“If you don’t fight like hell you’re not going to have a country anymore.”
Add to the fact his continual lies that he won and the election was stolen was absolute fuel to the conspiracy minded individuals out there. Do I think he thought it might happen the way it did? Not sure. But make no mistake if he does what every other candidate has done in history, which is congratulate Biden, concede and move forward Jan 6 does not happen. That is irrefutable.
So the word fight means to incite violence? Please watch this whole video.

How bout the last part of my post? Are you suggesting his actions and words had zero to do with Jan 6. That this spontaneously occurred for the first time in history, while simultaneously the candidate refused to accept the result amd used incendiary language repeatedly. Is it just a coincidence to you?
They are - but it also does help show the kind of people and why they vote the way they do
This is a 58 year old working in a dollar general . Although almost certainly the dems are better for their personal wellbeing , this person feels completely disenfranchised with the current batch of politicians and resonates with a picture of a powerful politician fighting again what they perceive as the status quo
As I’ve said many time on this board - most people aren’t spending hours a day obsessed with Twitter and Facebook and reading every article and understanding and reviewing every policy and potential impacts . Most of them just know their lives have gotten worse over the last few years with inflation and leaving a pandemic and need someone to blame / someone to offer solutions
Donald Trump resonates with these people like it or not . And that picture now seals the deal . It is a very powerful image for people who want a strong leader to fight “against” a system that has failed them in their eyes (Even though they are usually voting against their own micro self interests)
True but to me the most important quote isn’t about the picture. It’s that person saying they like trump already and think he’s gonna help them. This person was already a trump fan. The rest of the story is selective fluff.
Anyone who has ever heard of trump already knows all the negatives. This person they interviewed is clearly not your average independent undecided voter. They’re a clear supporter of trump who doesn’t strongly identify as republican. They would have voted for trump no matter what.

1. I am not lying
2. I am not on facebook, never have been. Its a cesspool.
3. Maybe curate your feed and sources of information better and you wouldnt see nothing but the ****posters of social media
Posters were saying the same things on this forum, not just on FB. Wanting Trump dead and making light of the shooting. That kind of rhetoric is everywhere.

Is rhetoric the same as making a joke? I saw people joking about his assassination. But were those people honestly and genuinely wishing for his murder? Very different things.
I’d be happy if trump were gone forever. He’s a tyrant. But I don’t want him murdered. That’s insane. He needs to die of natural causes. The world is better off without him. But not if his assassination devolves into civil war.
This probably gives support for Trump a short-term bump. But the election is four months away, and that’s a lifetime in the news cycle. And I know those were different times, but Gerald Ford’s popularity boost was very short-lived after the assassination attempts on him.

Defiance is his brand. They tried to lock me up, they tried to kill me. He's riding a tidal wave.

Save yourself some time and discuss this with someone who argues in good faith.

Thx, I just can’t help myself sometimes. It just seems so obvious and I can’t believe the ignorance of the reality that I can’t stop myself from trying.
Those who are exploiting this situation to point fingers and blaming democrats and/or the left for what happened, are no better than the people outright condoning the shooting.
The POS shooter was a deranged individual with a mish mash of political views, and his actions prove that he was devoid of morality or decency. He was also incredibly stupid if his goal was to stop Trump/MAGA, as he may have just handed the election to him.
Things just went from trending bad to trending extremely bad. There's still time for the universe to correct itself, but the window is rapidly closing. The Democrats need to figure out who their candidate is once and for all, and unite behind that person with everything they've got. For the sake of humanity.

This event has just solidified Trump as the next Potus.
Yup, it's looking very likely at this point. This will certainly motivate the MAGA cult to show up in droves to vote, and that image of Trump raising his fist in the air will be sold on t-shirts and flags for the rest of the campaign.
The only positive for the Dems out of this is that Biden's age won't be front page news for the next few days. Their only hope now is to somehow convince him to step down and nominate a younger, more exciting candidate. Technically they still have until the convention to get this done, but sadly I just don't see it happening. America and the rest of the world are in for a rough ride over these next few years.
