No way Draisaitl signs for $13.5M
And no way that he and/or McDavid sign for 7 years - it's either shorter (4 or 5), or it's 8
I could see Bouchard accepting Nurse money, or slightly more.
Draisaitl $15M (though I don't think he signs)
McDavid $17-18M
Bouchard $9.5M

Fairly close to what Seravelli said a few months back. He figures they will all sign for 40 million, however that might look between them.

As well, there is something to be said about experience, which the Oilers are now a lot richer in. I notice, in all the negative spin on here, never is it mentioned that, the experience of this latest run will help the team, and that the younger players on the oilers, like Bouchard, Holloway and Broberg, are going to get even better.

EVERY team has a drive to win - the Oilers are not special in this regard.
Broberg and Holloway are probably better, yes. But by the same token, there are a bunch of guys that are over 30 and will probably be worse.
Also, Hyman, Bouchard, Ekholm and Janmark all had career years. And they are going to miss Foegele.
Playing into late June is exhausting, which is why it is very hard for older teams to do it back to back. Not only that, but the pressure this year will be off the charts because Draisaitl and McDavid are both standing at the door with their jackets in hand.

And I am predicting $42-43M (if they all sign)

I really only hear that in here and Canucks/Leafs Twitter. I’m not certain of course, but I am quite optimistic about them all re-signing in Edmonton. And if they don’t… I won’t begrudge them a bit. They were awesome players to cheer for, for the time they were oilers.

Ah summer, when every Oil fan is supremely confident that their team will continue to get better, that there are no issues in declining players, that there will be no loss in players that left the team, and where they are for sure gonna win the cup this year!
Never change Oiler fans, never change. It really does make the summer go by a lot faster when we're all thoroughly entertained.

If I were an Oilers fan this would be absolutely atrocious mismanagement to not have won a cup during the McDrai tenure. The way you're happily waving them goodbye is as if they gave you guys a cup and now are parting ways. A game 7 final is not a cup, and any other management group in the league would've won a cup around McDrai in 10 years.
So no, being happy that they didn't re-sign and didn't win a cup, you should be absolutely livid because you know another decade of darkness is approaching when they're gone.

They were not going to run a 90% PK again with McLeod, and now they don't even have him. When something incredible like that happens, you have to take advantage of it.

Three years ago I said the oilers would make some noise in the playoffs and win a round or two. Two years ago I think I said they would make it to the finals. Turns out I was a year off on that. Last year I didn’t know for sure what they had and saw a lot of good teams in the west to battle. But this year, yes, I am going to predict the Oilers win the cup after the acquisitions they picked up. And for a caveat, I’ll officially djs_flames style self ban myself, if they don’t.

Oilers fans acting like this once in a lifetime defensive and PK performance along with multiple other factors that fell just right for their finals run can be repeated are just asking for disappointment. I'll give kudos to whatever game plan or coaching was done for their PK, but you bet your ass every single team is watching tape on it now and it won't be nearly as effective again. Mix that with some once in a lifetime performances from plugs like Brown and Janmark and their depth scoring in the final when McDrai were being held goalless for stretches, and you have a recipe for a first or second round exit next time around.

I’m not really like that. I appreciate the time I got to watch the best player in the world and his amazing sidekick for 10 solid years. Do I want them to stay, heck yeah, but I won’t hold it against them if they don’t. I think they will though. Being livid for not winning a cup when it’s one of the hardest things to do in pro sports is not an effective way to live imo.

I don’t think there’s many oilers fans who don’t agree with that. I think what was being stated is he wouldn’t be upset with the players themselves if they left. I fall into that camp too by the way, disappointed but not angry at the players.
The first five years were completely wasted and that’s what puts the oilers in such a precarious position. Where they are now is where they should have been with competent management, drafting and development 5 years ago. It’s a knife edge for next year, it’s the hardest trophy in sports to win and they may be a betting favourite but the field still has a massive advantage.

If Draisaitl signed in Edmonton, he'd want his 15M back, - the total amount he feels underpaid by on current contract. So if 15 is his number for re-signing they will need a 135M offer, or 16.875x8. That's the realistic number to see Draisaitl back, I'd guess. But like you say, I think he doesn't.

Ya it would be tougher to acknowledge 10 years wasted with McDavid compared to just appreciating what you can so I understand it that way.
If we're being honest McDavid is a bit of a cheat code and so he makes the toughness of obtaining a cup tilt in the Oilers favor if management didn't blow it with some insanely horrible moves throughout the years. So much so that I 100% would think that any other team could have done it better.
You shouldn't be going to the finals in their last year with the Oilers, it should've been much earlier is my whole argument. But ya dreading that is not healthy so appreciate what you can.
