OK, that's weird. There are 33 teams on that list: all 32 NHL teams and the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Is somebody at Eliteprospects having a laugh?

Nope and according to his agent if it doesn't get done this summer it isn't getting done with Edmonton. That is what I have heard. Sounds to me like he will drag his feet with them all summer and then walk.

I’m gonna laugh so hard if he leaves. Nobody in Edmonton is worried about it because they think it’s a foregone conclusion that he re-signs. We learned the hard way. He isn’t signed until he’s signed

There is part of me that feels this Oilers offseason is going to lead to a Presidents Trophy but ultimately a first round exit

I noticed that too. I thought they might have put the top AHL team on the list for perspective but they were only 7th oldest in that league.

Probably an error or they had Arizona assigned to team 83.

I don't think that they even win the Presidents Trophy. I'm leaning the other way that the Oilers faced with the bouchard and Draisaitl distraction, and not being able to fire yet another coach for the new coach bounce will be one of the most disappointing teams of next year, and that the main causes are they run out of the luck they've had over the last few years, and their rickity grandpa'esque lineup collects a lot of injuries.

And half way through the year, McDavid and Draisaitl decided to tune out yet another coach.

All these signings remind me of when Selanne & Karina signed in COL in 2003 and everyone was convinced they’d be dominant. How’d they end up? 40-22-13-7, 6th in the west, lost in 2nd round to SJ. Selanne put up 32 points in 78 GP (9th on the team) & Karina had 25 points in 51 GP. This isn’t EA hockey and you just collect all the offensive players you can. There’s only so much ice time, plus, as already mentioned, these guys are on the last legs of their careers. I’m predicting a decent season, probably 1st or 2nd in the division but no repeat return to the finals.

The last time the Oilers won the division was 1987. That'd be more than a decent season for them.

Meh. Either way you can see the writing on the wall. If he stays with Edmonton he has cashed out. Lottery winner. If he leaves, he's cashed out. Lottery winner. What you can see is the fact that he is slowing down. Many miles on that engine and frame.

Damn, that is actually a little shocking, had no idea they hadn’t won the division in so long. Still, it’ll be them or VAN But I don’t see them just walking their way to a President’s trophy and a return trip to the finals. VANs still strong, NAS has improved immensely, VGK is always a threat, DAL still has a great roster. The Oilers aren’t going to just cake walk to a Cup, despite what their fans and tire pumpers say.

yup, he wants to get paid.

As his European agent Jiri Poner said to Eishockey News, "(Draisaitl) has been playing at least 30 percent below his value for three years."
Quote:
Poner is not concerned about there being no extension in place at this time. He did voice some of his thoughts regarding the deal itself and where things are at in negotiations, "we have our ideas, but the ball is in Edmonton's court. There's no rush yet, but either it happens quickly i.e by the end of August, or it doesn't work out at all."
This year is it. AFter that, he either bolts or signs for such a ridiculous amount that they can only afford to put him and Connor on the ice and no one else.

Maybe he needs to get paid because he has so many agents. Nothing screams "what about ME!?" more than a guy with continental agents.

I hate the Oilers. They're a bunch of losers & I hope McDavid & his German counter part come to their senses & flee to the states.

i really cant think of a "worse" 100 point player than the Tenderness, perhaps i am missing someone but he isnt close to an elite player

there will be less than 10 NHLers playing this season that were alive the last time the Oilers won the division. at least 2 of them will be playing for the Oilers however

He's pissy so he has an incontinental agent.
