I like Banff. Some really good restaurants and just a nice place to stroll around with an incredible view.

Seems a lot better (and busier) than it’s ever been. Too bad we’ll never find out what about it is supposed to change.

The only issue with Banff is that it's too popular. Otherwise it's pretty great. The only way to make it "better" is for it to somehow go back to having the visitation numbers of a few of decades ago.

I was in Banff for work last year, stayed in the Banff Springs for the week.

I spent time with people from other parts of the world.

They could not stop talking about how great Banff is.

Sometimes it is good to see things through other people's eyes.

I take Banff for granted.

We should make visiting a lottery, where if you win you get to go to Banff, and if you lose you have to go to Field. That place is ripe for a boom, it just needs a little push.

Banff is still great. Lots of amazing restaurants. Just make a reservation and know where to park.

I don't understand why Parks Canada doesn't explore surge pricing for at least that Banff entrance.

Increase it by 100% for weekends.

That won't be a barrier for tourists (because you didn't travel all the way to Banff to not pay another 20 bucks) or the well off....but will become a barrier for middle/lower income locals. It's a National Park...it should be as accessible as possible for everyone, especially Canadians.

What Banff needs is another Banff. Which is basically what Canmore is turning into. So what we really need is another Canmore.

But that would shift money out of Alberta and into BC. Instead of supporting a boom in Field there should be a major boom in Lake Louise and a drastic expansion in Banff. I wonder if that clear cut area at the base of Castle Mountain just west of Highway 93 could be turned into a nice new resort. I'm sure that either the Marriott or Hilton group could create something really nice out there.

Love that that is your first concern. I'm Canadian, so I'm OK with it. I was also, obviously really being facetious.

Something that would make it better. Banff is a perfect spot for a Swiss Chalet.

They used to have one, but they had to close as Banff got not better enough.

That's wild. A ton of money and effort has been poured into it. I've been part of some of it. I'm totally surprised you haven't noticed.

The new log jam is three or four years old. Like top to bottom brand new versus just a refresh or refurbishment of the old one. It's literally a brand new bazillion dollar log ride.

What is so different between the two?

Honestly this is the first I have heard.

With various Swiss Chalet sauce refill stations set up around town and at the top of gondolas.

I've volunteered to serve meals at homeless shelters in the past. Its usually a very pleasant experience.

If you ever need an emotional or mental 'pick-me-up' those places are awesome!

"At least I've got it better than that guy!"

I am kidding. Of course.

Have you ever been to The Grizzly House?

It might be the single most disgusting establishment I have ever entered. I know of it's sordid history but even now, after being 'cleaned up' you can just feel the grease on every surface. Its palpable.

I haven’t been to the Grizzly House.

But there’s gotta be one redeeming quality about it… doesn’t there?

Though, I only see Banff’s worst whenever I walk by.

Redeeming quality...........the entrance is ugly and easy to identify so you don't accidentally walk in.....

We went once with family that were in town.

It was near the top of their to do list.

I tried to explain how horrible it is.

They were addiment.

Afterwards they apologized and acknowledged I might have been correct.
