I can see Carolina, New Jersey and Detroit, and maybe even Nashville. But Anaheim?

Me too.
Anaheim bouncing ahead of the Flames in the standings in 24/25 would be wonderful.

Exactly why I want him to pick Anaheim lol.
4 years 35 million. Do it stammer.

I agree with your post, and I imagine this was meant as an innocuous statement but you probably want to avoid referring to a black hockey player as "boy"

I think I would rather have Duclair over Debrusk.

Interesting Vegas is in on Stamkos, that cap is a train wreck. Would guess if Carolina loses out on Stamkos I could see the Hurricanes and Knights making a deal,
To VGK
Suzuki
2025 3rd (from Chicago)
To CAR
Karlsson
Carolina gets a solid piece to move forward with on a good contract. Vegas gets youth a center and cost controlled. This would also allow Carolina to just deal Necas for picks and/or prospects instead of just roster players.

How would people feel about Jonathan Marchessault? I think I like the idea of him over Duclair.
• Apparently him and Huberdeau are good buddies.
• His age puts him in a category where he won’t be signed for long term (4-5 years)
• He's played a lot of miles in the playoffs including the face he has won a cup.
• Basically was at the forefront of a team that was not supposed to compete for years
On the other hand it also gives me James Neal vibes a bit. Just want to see what some peoples standpoint would be on this one?

Hands down I’d take him over Duclair. But he’s also on the other side of his peak so you never know when that cliff will happen. I personally think he’s the type of guy Tre would pursue. We’ll know shortly but I think he’ll be going to one of the contenders.

I'd take Duclair. Marchessault is going to demand a lot of money and will likely have a number of suitors. Duclair will come a lot cheaper and be more likely to sign with a rebuilding team.

Not sure why you would want Stamkos unless you are ready to win it all?

Duclair on a 1-2 year deal if he's willing would be great.
I'd love to see a Huberdeau - Kadri - Duclair line
Kadri is IMO like a rich mans Sam Bennett (although Kadri is getting older now)
Might find that 2021-22 chemistry for Hubby and Duclair possibly?

Friedman with a Monday morning set of predictions:
Quote:
- Elias Lindholm: Boston.
- Chandler Stephenson: Nashville most likely, if not, Seattle or St. Louis.
- Jake DeBrusk: I picked Seattle from the start, have to stick with it.
- Sean Monahan: Columbus or Winnipeg.
- Nikita Zadorov: Boston.
- Chris Tanev: Toronto (around six years at $4.5M AAV).

(plenty more in the link)
He doesn't list Calgary anywhere.

Marchessault is going to get paid, not something the Flames should get in a bidding war on. He’s probably looking at 5-6 years too which at his juncture makes sense but doesn’t make sense for the Flames.
I’d rather Duclair at 2.5-3.5 x 2

No clue who this guy is, but good grief GM's are outright ignoring age at this point. He'll be 40 when that deal expires.

Any of our CP insiders hearing anything new this morning? I am a bit surprised to not see a Calgary trade yet or even rumored.
