Wolf is getting very much overrated around here

The jury is still out on him, nothing he did in the NHL last year has shown he is the next star goalie.

Utah is a new team, there is no better name in the draft to market to their fans than Iginla. That’s why they took him. They would want a lot to give that up.

There is nothing the Flames have that would allow them to move up from 28. And it doesn’t make sense to move up from 9 if you have to give up one of your better young players like Wolf or Zary or even Andersson or Weegar.

The Utah trade rumour said “roster players.” Plural. So I’m guessing a current roster player on each team was involved. For all we know Utah wanted Weegar, Conroy asked for Lawson Crouse, and things got really complicated.

Is he getting overrated?

Pretty certain he's the Flames best prospect. That's not overating him. He's very much earned the distinction. You don't trade your best prospects in packages to move up 3 spots in a draft.

Like seriously. It's starting to grind my gears how little some people think of Wolf and what he's done at every single stage of his development.

Over rate? Pffft. He's criminally under rated around these parts by a fair sum of posters

He said 28t not 9th. I would not trade him to move up 3 spots. Pretty clear in my post.

Or it was the Flames trying to get #6 without giving up any picks? Seattle may have asked for a big package. Something like Weegar, Wolf, Coronato for 6 overall? Whatever it was, was too steep for the Conman.

It's likely the Iginla's had knowledge of the high possibility of Utah taking him. Interesting that Jarome's boy will play on the same team as his buddy Shane Doan's son.

My guess is Pospisil. Lots of teams wanted him, and we were probably having to give up 9 and Pospisil for 6 and a lower level player on their end. IIRC lots of teams were interested in Pospisil after the Worlds.

I’m really happy they bagged Parekh rather than trading up for Iggy or Catton. He’s the guy I was hoping for at #9. I reserve the right to be outraged at a later date however.

Frank looking for clicks with another drive by pot stirring, that's all.

Is anyone, especially Conroy, ever going to admit that they don't Ike their guy they picked and rather would have someone else, especially considering what number the pick was, and it was Iginla. So Frank can make up some fable to sound authoritative because if Conroy or Flames disputes it, it's becuase he has to, not because it isn't true.

If the Flames really and only wanted Iginla going into yesterday, they would've gotten him, sure through an overpay.

It's pretty vague, for all we know we would have kept #9 and added #6 for roster player(s) +?

I wanted Iginla but I would imagine a lot of teams were contacted on potential moves. No real news here.
