Conroy needs to stock the cupboard. Don't see him trading the 28th to move up. Still some very intriguing prospects around 28th.

Good luck with that. A guy could be named John Smith and people here would somehow be spelling it Jon Smeeth, Jhon Smyth, Yon Smeath regardless of how long the guy played for us.
Just ask Jerome, Tkchuck or Hanifan.

True, I ask for too much.
Maybe we can pickup Jack Good and John Mustard with a couple of our picks. According to Reddit the perfect Oiler pick will be Daniil Ustinkov.

Pronman on his final mock draft today has the Flames picking him at 9. Here's hoping he's onto something.

California kid.
I could easily see Ducks taking him. Went 3rd in our last mock:

Without a ton separating guys 2-10 (maybe 12), if you look at it from point of each time on the board, the potential outcomes are wild in terms of how this plays out.

1 SJ Macklin Celebrini
2 CHI Artyom Levshunov
3 ANA Zeev Buium
4 CBJ Cayden Lindstrom
5 MTL Ivan Demidov
6 UTAH Anton Silayev
7 OTT Tij Iginla
8 SEA Zayne Parekh
this is how I could see it shake out, leaving us with a choice of Catton, Dickinson, Sennecke and Helenius. And I'd probably go with that order too.

Now I'm wondering if we can somehow find a way to move up to get Demidov. Wouldn't doubt if Conroy is at least trying.

I would totally support a Ras trade if we landed #10 and got a couple of those guys.

Try and gauge the situation for sure, but I do not like the idea of using half our draft capital on one guy. We have too many holes to fill and there are too many fairly equal draft prospects to fixate on one guy.

Demidov or Buium seem to be a fools hope at this point. I'm hoping for Catton, who in my opinion has the most top end skill in the draft after Demidov and plays the premium position. See a lot of Brayden Point in his tape with elite handling and IQ.
I find there may be too many question marks with Iginla, how will he respond to the pressure of being drafted to Calgary? Does he have the high end skill to be a top line player, or will he top out in a goal scoring top six role? We may be leaving some skill on the table selecting him. He is also a winger, and this is a team that needs to start buiding through the middle. I'm on the Catton train, but of course will not be upset if they do go Iginla, as who wouldnt love the story. Wouldn't be upset with D either. Just please not Parekh.

With Coyotes drafting Simashev last yr 6th, find it hard to believe Utah HC takes Silayev there this yr, but who knows...

Would it be be nice if draft order is depended from a season before standing?
For example 2025 draft order determined by 2023-2024 season. Every team knows where they select next year so teams will have a little bit clearer future that they can operate properly. I think it will increase trades and signings too. For example if Chicago knows if they will select 1st AO next year, they will be very active FA this year and during the season to improve the team right away when they welcome the team's super star.

If the Flames pass on Catton for Sennecke I will absolutely lose my mind.

In your scenario, wouldn’t it just make sense to be active in FA AFTER you select your top star?

Very curious to see if Ras gets moved today. From what Royle posted it didnt sound like there was a ton of shopping, but maybe with Mang being moved it heats up. I wonder if Sens are waiting to see who is there at 7. Maybe they have their eyes on one of Buium/Parekh, and if their guy is gone then that pick gets moved.

I just think some players may have passed him by. I still love him, and would be delighted if we picked him up in the third. In the end, he’s almost interchangeable with guys like Josephson or Villeneuve, it’s that close.
