I'd like a bigger swing with that pick, please

The Flames are going to have a pick in the top 5 next year. This is only year 1 of three ( lets hope only three) years of picking in the top 10. I don't mind getting a sure thing at 28.

Man, the more I hear about Berkley Catton, the more I'm totally fine picking this kid. Elite offense, high IQ, almost performed as well as Bedard did in the WHL. Sees elements of Brayden Point in his skillset (specifically speed / transition game). The fact that he's a Flames fan too is terrific.

Well there are only 6 of them.
Looks like Dave "Tiger" Williams with 513 pts is the highest point getter for pick 31
https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/...sts.php?page=2
EDIT: That list on the Graphic has a bunch of errors on it. Brock Nelson is the wrong pick # .. Missed Neiuwendyk for pick 27 etc

Joe was like Williams ... not a 1st rounder when he was picked.

Nieuwendyk at 27 was second round at that time.

Does anyone think that beaudin will still be there by 28? He would be a solid mid round pick if he wasn't injured in his draft year.

Quite the range among the media/insiders where Iginla will go in the draft. Anywhere from fifth to ninth. Craig Button at one point say he'd go fifth overall to MTL.

Lot's of people judging by rankings and mocks... he'd probably be my choice when the Flames 2nd pick comes if he's there (depending on how the rest shakes out). Kind of get Ryan O'Reilly vibes off of him.

The high twenties you expect to have lower results, but at 13 you would think that there would have been someone more than 751.
Especially as the next three picks are all over 1000.

I haven't done a full analysis yet but it's either bad luck or the Oilers have had #13 often.

Janney had a 751 points in 760 games. That is actually a better career PPG average than Hossa at #12. It is weird that no one at #13 approaches 1000 points though.
