Home Depot isn't a company clinging to life in a dying industry. And the manager of a 100,000-square-foot retail store is responsible for a lot more tasks than a guy doing a radio show.

Last I checked podcasts aren't a dying industry and it isn't radio.
Podcasts are booming.

I think like a lot of things the top 20% make 80% of the revenue.

I was talking about radio. Podcasts don't have to pay $120K a year to beat a radio job.
The salaries of Home Depot managers are utterly irrelevant to the question.

Why were you talking about radio in a discussion about boomer and barn burner who don't do radio?
Speaking of irrelevant....

I have no knowledge but this seems very unrealistic to me. Even if that’s a total amount for all three of them, it still seems high to me. I suspect Boom is making the lion’s share of whatever revenue there is and that Rhett and Pinder are making very little money, if anything off this venture. Neither of Warrener (NHL career earnings) or Pinder (rich family) are hurting for cash. Again, I don’t know anything about anything, it’s just what I’ve surmised.

Because people were talking about how much radio pays compared to podcasts.
Try to keep up.

I’m sure there’s a podcast on the business of podcasts that we can all educate ourselves with

Who cares what they make? It is one of the best things Calgary Flames over the last few years.
They have the perfect chemistry between the 3. And all of the guest appearances are great for the most part. You have to be a pretty negative person to crap on any part of Barn Burner.

This whole thread is about Barn Burner. The specific conversation in which your post occurred was about how much the podcast pays, and whether it's better or worse than radio.
Then you tried to compare the income of radio and podcast people, which you do not know, with the income of Home Depot managers, which you also do not know, and which is stupefyingly off-topic. Take the L and move on.

I literally was not part of that conversation if you had bothered to read. In my original post I clearly stated I was specifically talking about barn burner and boomer.
I didn't compare radio to podcasts so that's a fail on your reading comprehension and you assuming I was talking about that.

You think these guys get up every day to make 40k a year?
That's pretty much minimum wage in Canada. Warrener puts his name face and time on the line for $150 a day?

I didn't quote anyone in my post so what conversation was I part of?
My first post mentioned barn burner and boomer only. Again, you were wrong and arguing for the sake of arguing which you're good at.
I didn't make one post about radio and radio salary nor did I quote anyone talking about radio or radio salary.

I have a friend who left a radio job for podcasting. I wish we weren't having drinks when I asked about the new job so I can remember details but the long and short of it is more money. For a podcast you still sell advertising and advertising isn't cheap. For a big name in Calgary Sports radio I'm sure that Barn Burner can charge a lot more for advertising than smaller podcasts.
