I don’t know why some suggest trying to trade away Weegar. Of all players that’s the guy I want to see in a Flames jersey until he retires.

A deal like that isn't happening with only Markstrom unless either one of the high seconds or that late first is included.

I’m not advocating for the Flames to trade or even shop Weegar, I like him too.
That said, I think the Flames should listen on anyone given the state they’re in.

As if I needed another reason to hate the Oilers. It's their fault we are here playing the waiting game.

Well, as Tom Petty says, the waiting is the hardest part, and even more true, baby even the losers, get lucky sometimes

Which is exactly how the Oilers got McDavid.

Was going to thank, but saw that it was already thanked by Johnny Rotten and figured we should leave it as is

Craig Conroy wants to make it patently clear that he’s not facing an ultimatum of any sort when it comes to the future of Jacob Markstrom.
“He’s never come and said he wants out,” said the Flames GM of his netminder, who has two years left on his contract.
“That’s never been mentioned. He’s never said that.”

Also talks about the draft, Vladar's recovery, the cup final, and Capfriendly

Love the posturing Conny. Let Fitz know he can pay up whenever he's ready.

I wonder if some animosity is starting to build between these two guys.

It must happen.
Fitz' extortion stuff was way over the top though. Imagine if another team wouldn't just give you players at the value you deem fair?!
Conroy seems to have found partners to trade with in the last calendar year.

If Fitz doesn't address the Goalie situation and NJ gets off to a slow start to 24/25 season he's fired by October and Conroy will have a new GM to deal with anyway. Even with the extension, they will just find a different role for him for that term.

Doesn't sound like a deal that's imminent to me.
Seems like there's quite a bit of distance between the parties expectations.

Fitz really seems to get way too emotional about the business side of this all.

Can’t wait for this to be done. Take me to a month from now when we are talking new shiny prospects and debating if they should get a shot to make the team.

Why are we sending Coronato?
This makes no sense on our end. I'd rather keep Coronato and keep Holtz out of it if it comes to it.
I don't understand why his name keeps getting thrown around in these rumors?

What is Connie supposed to say to the media?
"Eric, we have a principal deal in place. Just wait for the cup final to finish, will ya"

Including trading with Fitz at the deadline. If there was any animosity, why would Fitz eat some of Tanev's salary?
