Game 7 or 4 the heartbreak will be the same. So let’s end it in 4 and not leave it up to chance.

I want complete embarrassment where they look like they don't belong and shows just how bad Vancouver and Dallas blew it.

This would be the dream, and it’s entirely possible. Florida is a very good team.

Total revisionist history going on here. Yes, Los Angeles had a bad series this year but they could have easily won either of the prior two times. They were saddled by Arvidsson coming off the injured list so couldn't trade for anybody. If they didn't make that dumb Dubois trade they would have been right there with them again, maybe won.
If Las Vegas was so great then how come they couldn't get more points during the season?

They were too busy cheating LTIR to put out their best lineup.

LA was bad all season, they got in because of a weak pacific. Fired the coach and continued to looks like ass. They got dominated by a post deadline Flames team.
Vegas had key injuries all season long.
Anytime now you can bust out your Oiler jersey.

I defend the Kings and I'm supposed to have an Oiler jersey. Okay...
The "worst team of all time" got more points than Las Vegas, so explain that.

I just told you. They had players injured all year.
Once they got healthy they took the Stars to 7 and could have won it.
If they drew Edmonton they win that series.
Edmonton had the easiest path to the finals ever.
The Canucks had freaking Puis Suter on their top line.

Which is why the Canucks lost, because they're terrible.
Drew Doughty was injured for the entire series 2 years ago and they still almost won. If they had Vilardi and Iafallo for this series instead of head-in-the-clouds Dubois, they probably are right there again.

Who cares what happened 2 years ago.
The Kings, Canucks and Stars are the weakest group of teams to go through.
The Oilers have had the easiest path to the Finals ever.
Outside of Colorado or Vegas this is the weakest group of western conference teams I have seen in a very long time.
Just because they spent all season beating up on a hopeless Sharks team.

You brought up injuries for Las Vegas. So, who cares about that? Are you going to break out your Knights jersey and show us?
I'm kidding, but that's how ridiculous this infighting is. We should be able to analyze what happened somewhat calmly.

I’m not sure what we are even fighting about ?
Are you telling me the Oilers just went through a gauntlet of teams?
They barely scraped by the 10 shot Canucks, and if not for a brain fart by Zadorov almost went to Ot in game 7.
They beat a lifeless Dallas team.
And no the Oilers didn’t make these teams look like crap. Dallas struggled to get by Vegas and Colorado. They never looked like the complete team people said they are.
Vancouver looked like garbage vs Nashville. They won a game with 12 shots and another with like 17.
Out east Florida beat Tampa who have been to 3 straight finals prior to last season. Boston may have been the only iffy team. They pounded the presidents trophy winner.

My only point is 2024 Los Angeles is not the "worst team of all time". They had a bad series, sure. But...that's a bit of a leap.
The margin in the league is very small; Florida didn't "pound" New York. It was a close series. Someone (unsure if it was you or not) said they "dominated" Carolina last year which clearly isn't true.

You bring up last year’s playoff again. Carolina does that to every team out corsi and end up losing.
This Florida team is different. They absolutely did pound New York the last 3 games, all the Rangers could manage was chipping pucks out. They had a brilliant goaltending performance that made it close.
The Kings didn’t have a bad series. They are a bad hockey team.

That's the only reason why the Hurricanes weren't in the Finals last year. A brilliant goaltending performance by Bobrovsky. Florida looks a lot better this time around and not constantly depending on goaltending to bail them out, so let's hope it keeps up.
Hiller chose not to play Brandt Clarke; that's on him. Blake gave up some prime age players on beautiful contracts for Dubois of all people, then gave him a Huberdeau contract; that's on him. They are not a bad team.

And that’s the difference why Carolina can’t get over the hump.
New York and Florida have star players who can overcome playoff goaltending on a series, Carolina doesn’t. I’d say the same thing about the Stars. Although they hardly look dangerous their good players don’t have the it factor to get the big goal.
Dubois is part of the team now, and LA is not a good team. The Flames would have given Edmonton more completion. Probably sweep the Kings.

Florida was learning still last year under Maurice and had Marc Staal in their top four because of cap issues. They didn't mind giving up perimeter shots at all and that's all that Carolina does, they don't have the personnel to go into the dirty areas. Anyway, comparing this years Panthers to last year is almost irrelevant.

The Hurricanes are the most well-run team in the league in my opinion, which doesn't change based on whether or not they win a tournament. And they got Guentzel who I would argue is a star.
With respect to Los Angeles, yeah, Blake has to live with the Dubois trade. A lot of people here want him fired. They have a Dallas-like setup with Doughty and Kopitar ready to hand it over to Kempe, Byfield, et al. Their bottom six and defense are good. I didn't love the Fiala trade at the time but who knew that Minnesota was going to get a Brock Faber that was this good. They had it set up pretty well if they just waited even with Turcotte likely busting.
