It's not that serious, people also do extreme examples at the draft. Every draft still has a Yzerman or Sakic comparables

I guess you can take solace in knowing he won't last to 9th anyway.
To be fair dissentowner's view is simply that the Flames should not reach for Tij nor draft him ahead of their board just because of his lineage.

Ok Nostradamus , what metric are you using to claim he won't be as good as Jarome? I'm not saying he will be but there's also nothing to suggest he can't be either.

Jarome's 17 yr old season:

72gp - 33g-71pts

Tij's 17 yr old season:

64gp - 47g-84pts

I'm not either, if for some miracle he's available at 9 the flames will take him, not because of his name but because he's a great looking young player.

Well, it's not a reach at 9 and we'll never know if they had someone ahead of him on their list. So weird thing to drone on about endlessly. Hopefully he drops in their laps.

Jarome is a HOF

It’s overwhelming odd that Tij or anyone in this draft won’t be as good

Sure, but I'd rather bet on a kid who has the HoF blood running through his veins and would have everything to look forward to chasing his father's career stats, whereas most other prospects are just simply hoping to make the NHL/make a good living.

I have no problem with drafting Iginla

Just saying expecting him to be as good as his dad is too much and set him up for failed expectations

Chasing his fathers stats? Im sure he sits up all night thinking about it.

No kidding… I suspect Tij Iginla is currently worried about MAKING the NHL, not chasing point 1,000 in it.

Lol I'm saying that Tij has a lot more to look forward to/less pressure of making a living in the NHL than most other prospects so to me that plays in his favor.

Not that he's up all night thinking about his father's stats.

Thanks for coming out.

So we can trade him for Forsberg and picks? Sure, lets do it.

Cute. Probably not at all realistic but cute. Skilled good sized centers get taken above projection from what I’ve seen.

Elick or Bedouin at 28 for me. Not sure whos draft list they are using to have him at the bottom of the first.

Yeah you could stick 4 names of the usual suspects in a hat at 9 if it meant they got Hage at 28 also.

I think what makes this draft great is there’s no consensus after #1 with a slight edge to Demidov locked in at #2.

I think after Celebrini it’s going to be a wild ride to the 9th pick.

Unless the Calgary Flames draft Tij Iginla, they might as well stop construction of the new area (and the adjacent entertainment district),

Yeah I'm not convinced Chicago is taking Demidov at 2, I think they need a high octane defenseman more.

Yep, I personally think they go Levshunov.
