Is Hughes playing? Is Miller playing? Is Lindy playing?

Hughes is not on Makar level. Not even close. Makar is electric. I didn’t know Hughes was playing.

I think Hughes is obviously banged up. He’s usually quite a bit more dynamic than this, but I agree not on Makar’s level.

The deserve to win meter is shockingly close. 60 to 40.

I would have guessed 90 to 10.

I think if they had Demko they would be playing different. Silovs has been ok but he's still a third stringer. You don't take the same risks you do when your starter is playing. Eventually they're going to have to do it though.

Hughes must be hurt. Almost a liability out there.

I really don’t think we see Vancouver come out on fire. This is Tocchet hockey. He talked about killing the game and making it slow, and trying to play to 2-1 wins when he came last season.

Canuck's only chance is Nurse and Skinner score own goals.

Regehr played with one leg and nobody knew. Gotta go for it or else you're absolutely a liability unless you let someone else play.

Canucks look so slow and tentative again. Altitude sickness all over again, but at sea level.

With their top goal scorer and Vezina quality goalie out they have their excuses lined up if they lose, but you'd hope that would make them play with less pressure. No sign of that though.

Seems to me Tocchet has them completely focused on defense. That’s it. No forecheck, try to generate a turnover in the neutral zone……and dump it back in?

So the goal is high danger chances as opposed to shots.

Obviously this is not working very well right now but it literally is intentional. They're not scared to shoot, their coaches are telling them not to. And when they do shoot, not to miss (that also isn't working).
Sure, that is a valid approach, but they're taking it to a detrimental extreme. Skinner was pulled earlier from this series for being a sieve. The Canucks need to be testing him, not giving him the night off like they did in game 6. Or are they trying to lull him to sleep?

Yeah, Hughes is probably banged up, like everyone, but you have to make plays. If you can't, get off the ice

I think this is the case but really I dunno, just... you're missing your top scorer and starting goalie, just giver and see what happens. No one is going to blame them if they lose in that situation but might as well go for the gusto rather than trying to grind out a 1-0 win.

I wonder how much they are getting to throw this?
And
Edmonton is so bad that it’s still 0-0

Yes, Skinner was pulled. Why? Not enough saves. Why? Only high danger chances.

The object of the game isn't getting the most shots,
