Have people not learned anything over the last several years? The Oilers are not a powerhouse by any means. They’re a mediocre team with terrible depth and sub-par D and goaltending propped up by two star forwards and a PP. If you can make the Wonder Twins’ lives miserable and limit their chances, they’re very beatable.

A team living on their PP was true in the past. It doesn't apply anymore.

This year's Oilers were 5th in GF% at 5v5 and 8th in goals against.

This team could do some damage if they get an average to above average performance from Skinner.

Danault, Lizotte, Kopitar, sure. Dubois is the last guy I'd want gliding around out there when McDavid is on the ice. He doesn't even play PK.

It's also inflated by blowout wins vs bad teams.

If you only look at situations where the game is within 1 goal, their 5 on 5 GF% drops to 11th and their GA/60 plummets to 16th.

My thought is Danualt contains McDavid. Kopitar, Kempe, Fiala, Moore, Byfield do the scoring. The good news is that Kopitar and Lizotte can also handle McDavid when the matchup isn't there.

Talbot needs to have a series.

Skinner is the important palyer for the Oilers, IMO.

And for the Kings, I think the key player is PLD. We know what Dannault is, and of course Kopitar. They got PLD to up their strength down the middle. Obviously, he was crap during the regular season. But it's playoffs now, so maybe he will show up. And when he shows up, PLD can be a difference maker.

I think too many people are sleeping on the Kings. Does EDM know how to beat them, from the past two years? Sure. But that means EDM isn't going to do anything differently. The Kings, however, will be looking to do everything differently.

I like the Kings' chances. (if they get good goaltending)

The Oilers recalled Ryan Fanti, their ECHL affiliate goalie, to be with the team in case they need an emergency back-up. Funny that Jack Campbell sucks so bad that they don't even want him on the team as an emergency 3rd goalie.
