Would have loved to see the Markstrom for Mercer deal but if Fitz was trying to get Conroy to cave on price I'm glad he held firm. Thanks Sec for keeping us up to date.

Also love it that appears Conroy may have called Tampa's bluff, took Hanifin elsewhere leaving them in a scramble adding Dumba (all speculation of course)

We always see three or four trades past the deadline.

Good prices for buyers today, I think it proves Conroy did well with selling his other assets.
Too bad that NJ picked up Allen today, was really hoping for the trade to materialize. Markstrom is going to keep us in the playoff hunt, hopefully he isn't a disgruntled asset after whatever went down with almost-trade. We have to trade him this off-season IMO, rather than risk him having a bad season next year.

If St. Louis can get that 2025 first round pick for Buchnevich it would be really smart on their part. I know he’s a good player but waiting another year to trade him will likely not return much. The returns on scoring wingers as rentals have been underwhelming overall the last couple seasons.

This is my biggest concern. Hopefully it is dealt with in the summer for sure.

Honestly now that the risk of walking any free agents to July 1st is firmly behind us I'm happy to see a miracle make the playoffs story.

I don't have any sort of current info, but I wonder if Colorado or Philly have circled back on Vladar

Outside of the Elite Iginla and the emergence of Miikka Kiprusoff.

What's the difference between 04 Flames and 2024 Flames.

It rings true but anything can happen if you work harder. Dark horse runs happen all the time in sports. Hard work can beat Talent.

Yeah, outside of the best player in the league being on the team...what's the difference? As good as Marky has been, he has not been Kipper good.

He will sign a one or two year contract at around his current deal, so he can be fully evaluated.
 |
All good questions that might be worth some discussion. Why wasn’t he signed before the deadline ? Are they even talking? Has he publicly stated that he only wants to play here? What is he worth based on recent play and our knowledge on his past performance? Any risk of alienating him by ignoring his contract (Toffoli). You know. Stuff like that.

Lol, an elite forward and GOAT-tier goalie in his prime are not an insignificant difference.

Ya, lol igy was a top 3 guy in the league for christ sakes.

We don't have a top 40 skater in the league.

Just a dumb comparison
