He is the single worst defenceman in his own zone in the entire league. Even when he was putting up 50 points in a sheltered role, he was giving up more defensively than he provided offensively.
Add to that the character issues, and I would not have Deangelo on my team even if he had a negative cap hit.

I agree with a couple of posters here. If it's Tampa, I'm going off the board with Duke, Huuhtanen and a protected 1st or two 2nds.

Thompson + Huuhtanen + 2026 1st.
It's not a sexy package but atleast it fits some needs.
