Can't comment on this group of players, but back when I was more in the know, a lot of the players thought pretty much the same of him as we do.

Terrible for twisting words, stuff like "I was talking to xyz player the other day, and I get the sense that he thinks (insert Eric's own thoughts here framed like it came from the player)" when really it's quite a stretch from what was actually said. That would drive guys nuts, probably still does.

That's really irreverent, on a selling team you should be building through the draft until you have enough quality assets to make a push to be buyers again.

you have to get enough players to be in the middle but the focus shouldn't be on top UFA's

Flames at least 2-4 years away from worrying about free agents.

I like what Conroy is doing so far, Targeted a pure offensive D man from Vancouver and got a REALLY good shut down d-man from Dallas to go with the defensemen already in the system.

I don't think there's any hiding what's going on with this roster. The trades speak for themselves, regardless of what players say in the media.

It is a sell team. I think every single player knows that. They have sold 4 roster players this year and will sell at least one more.

Yeah, Flames taking heat on this one.

Perhaps deservedly so - for all the talk about how the Flames weren’t going to approach him unless things were good to go, for them to then approach him, have him (apparently) approve it, and then have the deal scuttled isn’t a great look.

If those are the circumstances, Conroy should make sure he gets this trade completed before the deadline. Zero point in keeping players who have soured on the situation here.

It also wouldn’t surprise me if the news about NJD being willing take on his full cap-hit came from Pat Morris, who is trying to turn up the public heat on Conroy to get him to complete the trade.

I just watched his interview and I think people might be misunderstanding him.

With the deadline a week away he's talking about them being a selling team this year. He talks about how he thinks if they were in a playoff spot guys like Tanev would have stayed.
