Nothing wrong with Weegar's comments - he said he, and everybody, wants to be on a buying team, not a selling team. But then he went on to say that it's on the players - be better. He said it's fine - disappointing to be where they are, but fine.

If you listen to the whole clip it doesn't sound to me like he's saying he wants out or to be traded to a buying team. It sounds more like he's disappointed, as an older player, that this group haven't been good enough to put themselves in position to be a buying team, but also says he has a lot of time left here and believes in the organization. I don't find his words all that concerning.

I posted yesterday about how I figured the Devils thought it was too late and weren't going to do it. If they still think they have time to jump ahead of the Flyers then hell yeah, do it. And the sooner they do it, the better. So pay up already

As for Markstrom's comments, he just sounds like a guy that's at the point where he wants whatever's going to happen, to just happen already so he can move on. That seems fair enough to me

I sincerely doubt it. Francis doesn’t appear to be very connected in the room. I don’t think the players like him much and it’s not like this would be the first time he based a whole lot of something on a whole lot of nothing.
