[Rumour] NJD willing to trade for Markstrom in offseason if deal not reached before deadline

Is it just me or do the Devils seem like they are super leaky when it comes to trying to acquire Markstrom? I assume all these leaks are coming from their side.

For christ's sake, Fitz needs to come to terms with the fact that:

1. He needs a goalie, Markstrom is perfect
2. Conroy does NOT have to trade Markstrom right now
3. Meet the price or phuck right off with all the media leaks

I believe the rumour about the Devils deal without retention. They should have held off a couple more hours.

This is true with the caveat that Markstrom does have a NMC and seems to be getting tired of the shenanigans, and could become very difficult to deal with if this continues. Almost seems like this is Fitz's goal with all the leaky lips on NJ side. Trying to piss Markstrom off into publicly requesting a trade which would certainly make it harder for Conroy to extract the proper value.

All of a sudden Conroy goes from "I don't have to move him" to "well I don't HAVE to move him, but he's requested a trade publicly and is now another malcontent in the locker room, so I really should move him"

Conroy should only do what is best for the Flames, they have done enough favors for players over the last few years and get nothing but grief

I think now it’s probably best for the team and for the player if something gets done here before the TDL. Probably won’t see anything over the next 24 hours here, gotta let Kipper have his day of appreciation, but I’m sure this is being looked into behind the scenes for sure. It’ll be interesting to see who they give the nod too against Pitty during Kipper’s night.

I just can’t see how it’s toxic? It was a small comment. As for trading in summer , I think most of us felt if he wasn’t traded by deadline , he would be traded in summer.

Such artificial drama creation

Markstrom is a world class goaltender with exceptional mental strength. Very hard to believe that a “think it could have been handled differently” would translate into irreconcilable differences

I suspect that Conroy and Marky will have a sit down chat about it and resolve differences.
