There is 0 chance that the Canucks are trading him in season this year. IMO 0 chance they trade him at all, they will try to sign him until the last minute.

So, from that clip, it sounds like the Canucks have circled back to Calgary on Tanev but still aren't parting with the 1st.
So what is the second piece? 2 second rounders? A second rounder, a prospect and a fourth or something? I think Rutherford will honestly cave and throw the first out there if I'm being honest.

If it happens it happens. Canucks held up their end. He said he was sick of losing, Canucks went out and built a roster that is not losing. He said he wanted to go to the play-offs. Team is play-off bound. Said he didn't want to talk about it during the season, the team has talked to him about it during the season, despite the swirling #### storm around it from media.
If he still drags his feet going to the summer then you have to see what's out there for him, you can't walk him to UFA. Long term health of the team just doesn't allow for it.

I don't think we could offer sheet Petterson, because we don't have our first rounder next year as part of the Monahan trade.
