Yea I agree, Dellandrea is in the right age group as the rest of our prospects too, he’d be a solid target and return in a Tanev deal. lol collectively speaking we need a trade to happen already!!

The market seems to be established as 2nd and adder vs a 1st (Conroy's request).

So yeah it's interesting to ponder what Edmonton would have to do to win this. Wouldn't be as simple as moving to a first as that's already the asking price.

1st + adder seems like the Oiler spot.

Don't think the adder would be another 1st, but it should be a decent prospect.

Would Edmonton do a 1st and Broberg?

Gets traded . Gets injured (something nice and mild like a sprained elbow). Oilers miss playoffs. Pick win’s lottery. Mack scores 700 goals and 1400 points. 200 goals against oilers. Tanev resigns in summer.

I would rather keep Tanev than trade him to the Oilers. They’re already a cup contender; the thought of making them better turns my stomach, especially being surrounded by their mouth-breathing fans. A GM can’t be that petty, but it would be a hard pill to swallow.

Some fan expectations of Deadline hauls are really out of touch. Flames still need someone who can play center in a 3rd and 4th line role going forward. Getting a player like Dellandrea back for Tanev would be pretty good, and probably have a better chance of playing 200 games as a Flame than anything in the Lindholm return.

That was, line for line, my thought process as well.

But when I came to the conclusion of a 1st + Broberg, I figured no way the Oilers do that - total non-starter.

But what about Broberg + 2nd

Yeah, this is worth some attention. Not a back to back, there’s no injury (that we are aware of), Marky playing well, important game for the team (vs tough opponent) - the number 1 guy should be starting 99/100 times here
