Maybe Klopp is just going to run them all into the ground and then bail?

Add Jones, Jota and Nunez and Salah is coming off a hamstring injury from AFCON.

Hojlund needed a bit to get going in the Prem, but he's been outstanding these past few weeks. Youngest player ever to score in 6 consecutive PL games now.

Netflix put out Season 3 of Sunderland ‘til I Die and while it’s only 3 episodes, it’s really good. Hopefully they’re making a 4th season.

Huh. I'm not sure that I was aware that Sunderland was owned by the Louis-Dreyfus family.

Oliver Glasner takes over as Palace manager as Roy Hodgson steps aside. I think that Palace has some good pieces, and maybe Glasner can get them firing on all cylinders.

I wish Roy Hodgson all the best of health and happiness. He is and always has been a class act and a refuge of common sense, stability, and dignity amongst all the madness that generally prevails in the sport.

Glasner is a fantastic coach and i honestly hoped he would land a bigger and more stable club than Crystal Palace. Knows how to organize a solid defense though, so I think he'll do well and maybe get a better PL job at some point in the future.
Newcastle have announced that Dan Ashworth is already on gardening leave, ahead of his switch to Man United ... now it's about compensation to get him to start work earlier. Not going to lie, it's pretty cool to see United poach quality people from City and Newcastle like that.

Glasner seems like a good hire. Palace aren't a big club but they are incredibly stable, just in the 12-16th spot . 11 years in the prem and 7th longest serving club.
I can see why he'd go there if a big 6 job wasn't on offer. They've lost their 4 best players to injury for a ton of time this season with Eze, Olise, Guehi and Doucoure all out right now but that's not a relegation fight level squad with the calibre of players in their side and when they do move on to bigger clubs Palace will be flush with cash and Glasner will be able to build out the squad the way he likes.
If they can get some of the injured players back and survive the season, the new stand they are starting this summer that will boost their capacity up to 35k and add a ton of corporate facilities/revenue will put them solidly in that second tier of premier league clubs. Also have a brand new expensive academy in probably best talent catchment in england. I think a good manager could make some waves there.

Did I make a mistake choosing Crystal Palace as my team?
Never. South London and proud.

Dammit.

Well...you wont get much stick from me. Crystal Palace (CP) have long been a thorn in Liverpool's side, but my Father-in-Law, Mother-in-Law and my Wife were all born in Croyden overlooking Selhurst Park.
So...while I'm no fan, I offer respect.
While he was alive (RIP Ken) my FIL assured me that Selhurst Park's 'Home Field Advantage' was that it was an absolute s##thole that people couldnt wait to get out of. I kind of want to experience that one day.
We all have this thing where we want shiny, new stadiums with all of the amenities, etc. I'd like to see something 'Vintage.'
Like...what is the experience in a 100 year-old soccer stadium?
I made a point of getting together with him for every Liverpool/Palace match and trust me, he got the last laugh more than his fair share of times.

Oh, it is vintage. I was only there once - in the early 90s. And it was vintage back then!
I was in the away end with the Aston Villa supporters in a match against Wimbledon, who were tenants at the time.
It was cold, windy and with driving rain and there was no cover or shelter from the elements at all.
It was the game where Dalian Atkinson (RIP) scored THAT goal, and I was right behind the goal to witness it. I remember watching him start his run and thinking there is no way he will finish this off. But he did and it was spectacular!

That depends, Darwin also came off injured, but they said that was 'precautionary' so if its not so bad I could see him getting the Lion's share of them.
Otherwise? Gakpo. I'd like to see Gakpo get more minutes but he's constantly getting hurt too.

I was at games at the old White Hart Lane and the new one (technically Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, I guess). The old building was far more intimate and I think better from an atmosphere and crowd perspective. The new one is incredible, and it's just plain cool to have 60,000 people at an event, but you do lose some intimacy. There are some huge benefits though; the enormous bar at the goal line of the south stand is way better than the old barn. That said, there are pubs there (across the street) where you get that same atmosphere and I'm sure they're les enthused about the club pub than me!

It kind of reminds me of the old 'Hicks & Gillette' days of Liverpool ownership. They kept on promising a new stadium.
But...for the most part I dont think anyone wanted to replace Anfield, it just needed more capacity.
And again, Soccer Stadiums are an entirely different animal.
They need a pitch, drainage, capacity, some amenities. Sure you want premium Luxury boxes for the VIPs and whatnot, but they dont go through the same wear and tear as NHL/North American arenas with ice-plants and huge energy requirements or being an arena thats converted into hockey/lacrosse/basketball and have several tenants, etc.
They also dont have to deal with severe weather changes like NA arenas.
Like...to this day I ponder ceaselessly about who in their right mind decided to shape the Saddledome's roof like a gigantic scoop in an environment where we get this much snow.
I think people who made buildings with flat-roofs are idiots. A giant scoop? What idiot thought this would be swell plan?
So, anyways, they tend to last a lot longer and require less maintenance, but as they last longer they become iconic.
That being said, I do feel that the older stadiums have a more...special environment and I'm glad England is going back to 'Safe Standing.'
I stood for the entire CL Final with thousands and thousands of people and it was an amazing experience.

Was at selhurst a couple months ago. It's such a fantastic place with a lot of soul... they've upgraded the corporate facilities and amenities a bunch over their decade in the prem and added a fan zone so you can get that type of experience with all the amenities if you want it pre-game, but once you get into your seat in the stadium it feels like going back in time and has a fenway pre-renovation feel. The close quarters and the grassroots connection feeling of the local working class people who come out for me is something that's been lost at a lot of the big money clubs where they've built these uber modern mega stadiums with insane ticket prices. And the walk up is great coming through all the brick houses in Croydon and with the pubs nearby.
The new stand is badly needed and is going to give them a ton of needed new revenue to compete at the highest level but will be a bit sad to see the old main stand gone even if it is too small and dated. At least the Holmesdale and the Arthur Wait aren't being changed. The whitehorse can get demolished immediately for all I care it's a dump built on top of a Sainsburys.
