Right. I see that as a condition of the Tkachuk trade, not the Monahan trade, if the FLA's 2025 1st is a lottery pick, the Flames gets FLA's 2026 1st. So, there are two ways CGY does not receive FLA's 2025 1st: (1) Philly has FLA's 2025 1st because FLA's 2024 1st is top-10, or (2) FLA's 2025 1st is a lottery pick.

That's definitely one possibility. I think a lot depends on what type of assets they get back.
There will be some decent tandem goalies available this summer.
Backups: Rittich, Brossoit, Quick, Nadeljkovic, Driedger, Stolarz
Starters(?): Talbot, Fleury
Or the Flames could use some assets to try and get Swayman(RFA)

Regardless of what returns in any trades in the next few weeks, the Flames should also be looking at trading away some wings before the deadline.
Current depth at wing:
LW - RW
Huberdeau - Kuzmenko
Zary - Pospisil
Mangiapane - Coleman
Pelletier - Duehr
Klapka - Coronato
Plus Sharangovich if we acquire a real centre!
Unless we see Pelletier and Coronato on the 4th line (I don't), we need to move out some wingers.
I would consider selling high on Coleman.
To Dallas:
Coleman (retained)
Tanev (retained)
To Cgy:
Stankoven
2024 1st
2025 3rd
Kyrou
Hakenpaa/Faksa (or another cap dump...)

Can't imagine they'll pay the price for Swayman without giving Wolf an extended look

I doubt Dallas does that. Probably just Tanev (50%) for Faska and a 1st

Where do we get d-men to replace our d-men both on the Flames and Wranglers short term?
That would be my concern.

I wouldn't be too concerned. The GM is on record saying he does not support a rebuild the way many want, and believes that the kids need to brought up in a winning environment.

Markstom playing Vezina level and they still aren't in a playoffs spot, any one of those will be a downgrade. And they're still missing a 1C and a 1D. I think it's great, exactly what's needed- get some high end talent through the draft by bottoming out. I know they want to stay competitive but I just don't see how you build a winner by collecting other teams' castoffs and secondary pieces, even if you get some solid assets back.

If we trade Hanifin & Tanev, leaves us with:
Flames:
Weegar - Andersson
Kylington - Pachal
Oesterle - Gilbert
Wranglers still have:
Kuznetsov
Solovyov
Pysyk
Poolman
Lyle
Aspirot (AHL)
Gourley (AHL)
Plus Poirier whenever he's back
Plus they can sign fill ins to AHL deals if they need to.
Plus they may get D-men back in any of the trades they make.
No concern as far as not enough bodies to me. If we were making a playoff run, sure they should get some more guys in, but that's not an issue right now.
