To me it's weird that you remembered Diss got that wrong AND you care that he "repented". I don't keep a scorecard but i guess you do? Who gives a ####.

The guy who broke the Lindholm trade early on Reddit (says he has a buddy in the mid level front office) said 5 days ago that multiple teams are inquiring on Markstrom's medical records for due diligence.

I really hope this is true. If Conroy is following through on his plan and not getting sucked in to the “we’re in a playoff race!!1!1!11” foolishness that some of the simpler types are I’m overjoyed. To think a Flames GM would operate in such a manner warms my heart.

Seems a bit weird that teams would be asking for Markstrom's medical records - didn't think that was a normal protocol at this stage in a trade negotiation and seems particularly odd given he's tied for 12th in the league in games started and played 122 games the previous two seasons, has been very durable since his first season with the flames.

Would think they would need his consent to share his medical records as well from a privacy perspective and he just said a couple days ago that the team hasn't approached him.

I don’t think it’s weird to check him out. It’s a big investment for a couple years.

Whether anyone is checking him out is a different story

It is interesting. I suppose teams could be doing their due diligence not just for this season but also going forward since he is a goalie in his mid thirties who they would be committing to for the next two years after this. If they give up multiple futures for him, they will want to know if any of his injuries are ones that are likely to become chronic in the last few years of his deal. Also, he has missed a few games this season so they might want to know why and if it’s for the same injury both times.
