I was going to add that I could see the difficulty in that choice. 1m+ of snow, or Fredericton? Hmmm, ya, I dunno.

Highway 1 is not great going west this morning. The right lane is mostly fine but the left lane after Scott Lake Hill is ice covered. Highway 40 is brutal and ice covered the entire way. About half a dozen cars in the ditch and the car in front of me almost went into the ditch at one point. She lost the rear end in the left lane at least 8 times but managed to stay on the road. She quickly pulled off the road once she got control and probably had to change her panties.

The running joke my wife and her friends had growing up and to this day is when we drive past the Balls creek sign, someone says it out loud and then someone else says "If you don't oil 'em"

That's a once in 20 year storm, 2 weeks from now the snow will be gone and the green grass will remind you it's better than brown Alberta.
If there was a god, he would reside in Cape Breton

Cape Breton is a spectacular island, full of very kind and decent people. And aside from this snow, a great climate

Hmmm, I think I might stick with the brown + the extra 60 days/700 hours of sunshine per year we get here

K, but a meter+ of snow melting in a couple weeks has to be a little chaotic and messy before you reach "green and beautiful". You'd have to dress like Paddington ####ing bear with all the puddles and puddle wake from vehicles. Sounds like hell.
And nice people? Nice people are weak.
Also trusting someone who is pro-winnipeg's endorsement of a place to live seems dubious at best.
(Jk I'm sure it's lovely ..2/3 of the year, excluding rogue hurricanes)

Little update:
Still not cleared out. The snowplow hasn't been past my street since Saturday morning.
Weather Network says 96cm has fallen
I've seen reports of more than that.
City declared a state of emergency. Someone posted on Facebook the military reserves are getting ready to come in.
The guy I called this morning to clear my driveway said he might not make it until tomorrow where the side streets haven't been plowed. The going rate for driveways is $30-$40. He quoted me $150 which I didn't hesitate to agree to.
Fun times.
White Out 403 how are things your way?

We're ok here, snowed in but the street is plowed. I have a guy who will plow me my driveway for 50 bucks.
