I get that they scored on it in the end......but Im betting his coach was in his ear, and really hard, that he has to take that shot.
Ive seen a bunch of his videos in the last 24 hours, and it really is a Huberdeau-esque tendency to pass.........a lot. Has to work on that.

Pelletier should re-join the NHL team as soon as the break is over. I don't think he needs to spend a couple months with the Wranglers. Get him in. French Connection!
Zary and Sharangovich should also get long looks in the middle. Use this time to evaluate what you have and whether you need to go out and find centers in a market that has a dwindling supply.

That's because he's playing with zero confidence.

In round 1 it's probably
EDM vs. VGK
VAN vs. LA/STL/NSH
Still very high hopes that the No Goods are done just 8-10 days into the post-season. Vegas will recoup its full strength come April.

Oddly enough I don't see Lindholm --> Kuzmenko affecting things too much by comparison.
|
If it were just Lindholm out and Kuzmenko in, I think they could get by and probably not lose ground (assuming Kuzmenko helps the PP). The problem is that the change is much more than that.
Out: Lindholm, Dube, Greer, Ruzicka
In: Kuzmenko, Pelletier, Coronato
On D...
Out: Zadorov, Tanev, maybe Hanifin
In: Kylington, Oesterle, Solovyov?
You can get away with one two missing pieces, but that is just too much to overcome, I would think.

We should have a pool on how many players who started the year with the Wranglers will finish the year on the Flames' roster.

I bet more NHL players are coming back though...Hanafin deal will be similar to the Lindholm deal

I love that Conroy has dealt three of the five key UFA's now, and he hasn't been pressured to include any picks in the deals.
5 picks in so far, and 0 picks out
2024 1st
2023 3rd
2026 3rd
2024 4th (cond. could be a 3rd)
2024 5th

I think by season's end Pelletier and Coronato are clear upgrades on Dube and Ruzicka. Outside chance of Kuzmenko being more impactful than Lindholm since that bar was low.
On defense, could be a dumpster fire as soon as Tanev is dealt. Solovyov and Poirier don't have the experience yet, and we know Osterle is an adventure when used as anything more than the #6.
Hopefully Kylington is up to speed quickly. Connie might need to seek out some help with their D depth. You need players to dress at the end of the day and it's not in the Wranglers best interest to suck that roster dry of its best guys who still could use seasoning at that level.

Debrincat went as an RFA (new 4 year deal) for a 1st and a 4th, with 1yr of Kubalik at 2.5m and a throw in
My opinion we got a better return for Lindholm as a rental then Debrincat did with a new contract. Granted I know Kuzmenko comes with an extra year but I believe there will be more assets yet to be extracted from him.
So far so good Conroy, more picks for Tanev please

Now add Markstrom to that.
I think they keep Hanifin.

Since they are both wingers, and Zary is much more suited to be on Kadri’s wing than to play as a 4C, Schwindt might be the best current asset in the org for the 4C role, or perhaps Rooney. Pelts will probably be added to that 4th line for the energy he brings, and they will let Coronato continue his development in the AHL. Gotta think they will try Sharky at C on a line with Huby and Kuz.

Sharky - Hub - Kuz should be what Huska tries first. This line could be elite IMO if these 2 click with Huberdeau.
I wouldn't touch the Kadri line.
I would love to see Mangiapane moved and Pelletier to take his spot. If not, I guess he can start in the 4th line but don't love that for an extended period of time.

Isn't that what half this board has been wishing for? Sometimes you get what you want, whether it's good or not will remain to be seen.
