To Flyers: Vladar, Flames 2024 2nd
To Flames: Frost, Flyers 2024 2nd (unsure which one is available to be moved)
The money is practically even and the the Flames get the better of the two picks, mostly due to the Flyers needing a goalie more (perhaps) though its fluid.
Thoughts?

I would do Vladar for Frost straight up. Keep it simple

As you get further into the draft, the difference in value between picks in the same round gets less and less. By the time you get late into the 2nd round, it's not even about BPA anymore and more about team needs/scouting, with each team picking their guys. Prospects stick out less and less as you go further down the draft. So there may not be any need to move from 55 to 45 overall, as the player will just be available either way.
The Flyers aren't moving Frost for Vladar and the slight upgrade in prospects from swapping 2nds won't move the needle.

To be fair Poirier was a great pick at the time.
Kid had it all, was skilled, lightning fast and physical.
He had his demons and wasn't able to beat them but he was a great pick at the time.

What I heard about Lindholm:
NYR got really involved following Chytil injury
COL had pretty soft interest, don’t think they were that serious
The 4th round pick that turns into a 3rd was a late addition that Canucks were not too happy about.
Winnipeg was in there too.
BOS was not involved, neither was CAR or FLA (Florida wants Hanifin)
Also doubt tanev goes to VAN, they are offering their 2025 2nd rounder rn

And remained a great prospect who looked on track to be an NHLer until he had his issues.

Problem with Florida is that I don’t think they have any first round picks to trade. Pretty sure their first round picks for the next 3-4 drafts are conditionally spoken for in other trades.

Friedman on the Marek Show today (nothing new):
- thinks that the Canucks asked the Flames about what it would cost to include Tanev in the Lindholm deal, but the Canucks couldn't pay the price. Thinks it was another 1st. Can see the Canucks revisiting Tanev in the summer.
- believes that Ottawa took a run at Tanev and he doesn't see it happening this season now. Can see Ottawa taking a run at him if he is a free agent this summer.
- believes the Leafs are still very interested in acquiring Tanev by the deadline.
- believes the Flames want to keep Hanifin and have made this clear to him, but Hanifin needs to make a decision. Many teams are interested.
- no doubt that teams have asked about Markstrom. However, these teams will need to make the Flames want the trade to happen for them to even approach Markstrom.

Please say no, Noah.
Help us close the book on that era. Just say you're not interested, and then go off to a market you'd rather be at.

Feel like Frost would have more value than Vladar.
So it would probably be more like:
To Flyers: Vladar, 2024 3rd
To Flames: Frost

You're not getting a trending down once highly thought of prospect for a back up goalie.

Feels like the Flyers really don't see a future for Frost there. Just an idea. hasn't he been a frequent scratch?

Conroy mentioned that there were other really good offers from other teams, and based on your info, that would seem to align with the Rangers and Boston being the teams with good offers that weren't as good as the Vancouver offer. Makes sense to me - Conroy got Allvin to give up 4 future pieces plus an NHL player today that scored 39 last season.

Yes. And they're unlikely to be moving him for a back-up.

Probably depends what Vladar's relative value is.
Frost is probably worth around a 2nd or a 2nd and a 3rd.
If Vladar's value is a 2nd (it's been rumored that has been the Flames ask) then it's the equivalent of a 2nd and a 3rd which would be completely fair for Frost.

I think that's a ridiculously high ask for a back-up goalie. I suppose a desperate team could pay it, but I don't think it will be a team like Philadelphia.

he's only a backup behind Markstom, all goalies are backups at some point. Pretty sure Demko was a backup behind Markstom too.
After yesterday the skies the limit! Flames players are in high demand
