Taking a contract with a higher salary cap than Lindholm back means you don't have to retain...and the asset could be valuable still if he finds his goal scoring form and meshes with Huberdeau or Kadri

Canucks actually signed the other 3rd rounder from that year (picked about 15 picks later), but he’s more local so maybe that was a factor. But they haven’t signed their first rounder from the same draft.

Now I want to see what Conny can get for everyone. With a return like that for a struggling Lindholm, imagine what he could get for Markstrom, Coleman, Tanev, and Hanifin.
