I think there must have been some allowances for both teams to do some due diligence to make this work. Vancouver probably would have wanted to see if there was a decent potential for a workable extension for Lindholm, and the Flames would have wanted some assurances that it's likely they can sign Brzustewicz. I heard him interviewed last year ane while some might question his hockey IQ (which is often a function of the coaching they had previously) when you hear him speak I think you'll feel he has the brains to make things work.

Funnily enough Brzustewicz's playstyle sounds pretty similar to Fox's. I'm not worried that he won't sign, but even if he won't, he should be good value to move on.

I think there are some things about him that scouts/coaches/executives don't seem to like, but there's nothing noticeable. He's been left off every US U20 team so far.

His style of play is going to need to do some major growing to make it in the NHL. Nothing indicates he can't do that growing though and the upside is massive.
