11.5C and 12C for Saturday and Sunday. Looks like EC was the winner.

This weather is gross. Can’t do any fun winter activities, and even going for a walk is super annoying with all the ice and puddles. Cars are filthy and you go through window washer fluid by the gallon. And the city is ugly as ####.
Why can’t we ever seem to get a stretch of a few weeks of pleasant 0 to -10 winter weather in this city?

David Spence is doing a weekly weather outlook for the prairies, he's always been very pragmatic in looking at all the models when coming up with a forecast. Good follow on the link:

The weather couldn't be any better.
Thaw days are the best.

So the official high for Saturday was 11.5C - I WIN! (and so does EC, barely)

We don't have to go back to winter, this is ok
All that needed moisture can just come as rain instead

Man, after the past four years or so I don't think I'll ever believe a rain forecast ever again. I remember a summer where like 10 rain days in a row were overcast, no rain days.

Get ready for the water restrictions this year, they are most definitely coming. Ric McIver is going to personally monitor your shower time...

I wouldn't worry too much about precipitation in January, which historically is the second driest month of the year for Calgary. As it is, at just 27.9 mm of rain equivalent January 2024 would still be around the 10th wettest in recorded history (dating back to the 1880s).

True. We aren't in trouble until March rolls through and we don't see notable moisture.

Sure, but precipitation in Calgary has little to nothing to do with flows in the major basins in Alberta, 3 of which already have restrictions and it is not even possible to get a temporary diversion license.
Almost every major river in every basin has low flow warnings effecting existing TDL and term licenses. There will be a lot of licenses that will not be allowed to access water this year and potentially licensees will see their licenses canceled coming up pretty quick here.
