I think I would take the Colorado offer first. I don't know much about Poitras.

If Dallas or Colorado come knockin' with one of those offers, Conroy needs sign the papers as soon as humanly possible and hope the Avs/Stars don't realize they've been robbed.

If Craig truly thinks he can save this, then we're back to what's plagued this franchise for over 2 decades. This team has no stars, it has no robust stockpile in the draft cupboards.
It's got a great cast of supporting players, a bunch of disgruntled UFA's and and goalie who's likely value is the highest it'll be in the next few years with a market that's looking to be very advantageous for teams trading "good" goalies.
This team needs to do it properly, it needs to remove itself from the "just get in and anything can happen" mentality.
At no point this season has the team shown that it can go toe to toe with any team in 7 game series.
Please don't mess this up.

I don’t think Conroy is going to do that. The players assured that over the latest home stand .

Options are (would be interesting to have a poll on which one people would prefer)
Boston: 2025 1st, Poitras, Trent Frederic
Colorado: 2024 1st, Calum Ritchie. Logan O'connor
Dallas: 2024 1st, Mavrik Bourque, Sam Steel
Vancouver: Nils Hoglander, Kuzmenko, 2024 1st
Vegas: 2024 2nd, David Edstrom Brett Howden
Winnipg: 2024 1st, Chaz Lucius, Mason Appleton.
|
Oh baby.. now we're talking.
No more pennies on the dollar nonsense! If Jeannot fetched picks 1st thru 5th picks just a year ago then Lindholm as the best C on the market should command a return like a few of these.

Poitras is overperforming where I thought he was as a prospect for sure, but the value for a 19 year old of a productive season in the NHL playing in a winning environment with a team like that possibly increases his ceiling/the likelihood that he is a much better player in the long run. He's seeing pretty limited minutes with weaker linemates and putting up some points too.
The Vegas proposal is more what I'm expecting at this point with how Lindholm is playing. Hope to be pleasantly surprised. I like Edstrom to be a middle six centre in the long run similar to Backlund if it all pans out well.

O'Connor is going to be 28 kind of on the older side, and looks to be topping out as a 20-30 point player.
Would rather just take the prospect and pick and not add on bottom 6 players.

Cap wise, how many of those deals could be done right now. Even with 50% retention I don't think you could make those work. Looking at Capfriendly, Colorado (especially with the Parise signing) and Dallas are right near cap without enough salary coming back. Boston Vegas, and Vancouver could work with the money coming back. Although in the Vancouver trade, the money coming back and a retention might make things a little tricky.
Cap persons on the teams should be having some fun trying to run through different scenarios in the next few weeks.

Those are very good offers... I would take most if not all of them (not very familiar with the VGK and Winnipeg names). If I had a choice it would be the Boston offer.

Nothing will happen before players return from all star break. No point in trading them while the are on vacation with friends and family.

Yah, Upside's Chief of Scouting E-Mac had Edstrom rated 14th overall in our final rankings last year (admittedly he loves his big centreman with potential)

Lindholm to the Jets all day long. Can't shake it. Chevy just needs to make it happen.

Because he’s insecure & lacks the emotional or intellectual capacity to agree to disagree on certain topics.
He frequently fails to comprehend & communicate how two points of view or opinions can both be correct depending on the context and the perspective they come from
This isn’t unique on this board when amateurs banter.
However, if he is a professional writer (as he claims to be) he needs to lose his amateur status & separate himself from clowns like Marc Spector.
