It frees up a roster spot for them.

Yeah the jets have alot of interesting pieces.
That would be a solid return and I don't think it's a ridiculous ask.

Dreger on TSN Insider Trading says that Kaliyev might need a change of scenery. LA isn't quite ready to trade him yet.

It would, but like I said, a bunch of guys are up on their team who aren't exactly lighting things up, and are waiver exempt so they could just drop them down without any concern about losing them.

- Was also interested in Monahan but felt it it was too risky with his injuries
- Says there are concerns in the organization about Laine being injury prone and every time he takes a hit they all hold their breaths
- Scouts aren't too big on Hanifin because of his physicality and unwillingness to go into the corners
- Said Conroy is really trying to make deals but no GMs are wanting to make trades at the moment
With this I'm not going to be surprised if we don't make any deals with Columbus.

Not surprised they had interest in lindholm at start of the season. Have to think that has passed now. Can’t see them spending assets right now. Their season is done. Could see them offering a pretty big contract to him in free agency.
I’m with the scouts in Columbus . The reason I don’t want hanifin re-signed long term is because of his reluctance to go into corners. I don’t think he has another level when it comes to playoff hockey. I’d be fine with not so physical if he could lead the team as a #1 qb on pp but he doesn’t have that either. I’m not saying hanifin is a bad dman , just doesn’t do it for me on a long term extension

Its sure looking like Philly will be without Harts services going forward. I'm curious if either Markstrom or Vladar might end up getting traded to them. (I realize Markstrom would have to waive NMC)
I can't help but think that Conroy is going to start moving some players out soon and maybe moving one of our 'tenders out now should also be considered. Time to give Wolf a full time spot on the team anyhow IMO.

Two devils stepping away sure messes with the trade options there.

There's no cap circumvention. In fact, the Leafs have been spending more money by keeping an extra man on the roster while Reaves was on IR.

He didn't say anything about cap circumvention. It does show though that league really does not do anything to look into injured players whatsoever.

Seems like Treliving has reversed course since going to Toronto. In TO, he's forcing guys to pretend to be hurt. In Calgary, he was letting guys play through injuries....

The one saving grace for that team is their core is so young and talented. They are likely to get more chances at this.

The league has no reason to look into regular IR. It's LTIR that is subject to abuse, and that abuse is entirely for cap reasons. The situation with Reaves has zero implications for the league.

Very true. Not having McLeod is going to hurt, Foote not so much.
Foote probably should be in Utica, but was playing due to all the injuries.
I do hope that this keeps them out of the trade market. If they make the playoffs great, if not, look to next year.

It does though if you want to open up a roster spot and you don't have one with Reeves in the lineup.
