To be fair, if my dad was Rob Schneider, I'd probably be wasted all the time trying to forget that my dad is Rob Schneider.

There has been this song. Figured it was a Chris Cornell song I had never heard. Weird, he's on the country station. Listen to it whenever it comes on. No, Its from Chris Stapleton?

So now I like a country song, what do I do?

As long as he hasn't fallen for a western song, too, there is still hope. He's only halfway gone.

I'm no country fan, but Chris Stapleton is good. That's some real talent

Random question: we have no room for a deep freeze in our house so I'd like to get one for the detached garage. It's not fully insulated, and in the winter during the really bad cold snaps it's anywhere from -15 to -20 in there. Would that be an issue for the mechanics of the deep freeze (would it cause damage), or would it still work ok?

We have a small one in our barely insulated attached garage. I haven’t observed any ill effects. It has been about 15 years and going strong. No maintenance at all.

Since everything is frozen anyway, it just means your unit won't run at all when it is below the temp you want to keep your frozen goods at. It becomes a glorified cooler at that point.

I have a bar fridge in my garage that get's down to -10 or worse and I rarely have any issues with my drinks freezing.

 |
Yep. My experience too.

The thermostat essentially is designed to maintain a certain temperature, if the garage is below that then the unit just doesnt run.

Can't, like, the refrigerant freeze and bust a line or something? I swear I've heard that's a thing with running a fridge in a cold garage. Then as it warms up you open your freezer and realize everything has thawed.

That's what I'm worried about. We're going to finish the insulation this summer but because it's a detached garage it'll still probably get pretty cold out there.

Hmmm....I'm no 'Refrigerant Expert' but I dont think so.

Isnt it a Chemical Gas? Unless you're living in 'Alert' or something I dont think we get anywhere near cold enough for that.

Theres gotta be an HVAC guy on CP who knows the answer.

But I've had a freezer in my attached but unheated Garage in Calgary for 7 years and never had a problem. For whatever thats worth.

I’ve had a deep freeze in an unheated shed for 4 years now with no issues.

I could see this being possible poor outcome for a fridge that isn't designed to have the refrigerant go that low in temps, but I'd assume it'd be OK for a deep freeze?

We adults also learn messy handwriting later on in life to prioritize speed over legibility. We do it also to create a relatively unique identifier called a signature.
