I mean let's not pretend the Oilers are the only employer to hire someone after vechiular manslaugher. Ted Kennedy's only punishment was he couldn't run for president. Bet he could today.
While this whole thread is full of half truths and some outright wrong information, I am still proud that the Oilers are willing to help players rehab and give them a second chance to get back on track. Kassian credits the Oilers for saving his life, Kane has been a model citizen since here. And Perry while only having one blemish on his off ice record will get a chance to redeem himself too.
Its not a bug, its a feature!
These are speed holes - they make the car go FASTER!
Except thats not what he said. Like I said half truths and misinformation in this thread.
He talked to Kyle Davidson, Bill Daly, Bettman, Perrys Agent, and Perry himself. He just said he doesnt know every detail, which doesnt mean he doesnt know what happened.
I don't even know why I respond, everything Oilers related will be twisted on here. Did he mess up? yup. Does anyone on here know what happened? Nope.
But carry on.
What did you expect when you come on here and talk about being "proud" of the Oilers?
You are the one twisting yourself to excusing the team you follow from making a pretty disgusting choice.

So basically, the takeaway from all of this, is that EDM is the jail of the NHL... or is the halfway house of the NHL... do bad people just get sent to EDM, or is EDM also responsible for re-integrating them into society?
Actually, it's probably more like those jailhouse movies of the 70s... where bad people are sent to EDM, but EDM is overrun with torture and corruption, so instead of rehibilitation, the inmates are just beaten into submissively competing to win the warden a trophy.
But any team would be within their rights to ask Perry what the deal was, and could they privately contact the Hawks, and make a decision based on his answer and their research. Instead, Edmonton just shrugged.
Deniability I suppose. Didn’t know about it, it can never come back. Or something like that.
