I can't see it but it would be good for the flames. Drives the price of Lindholm up.

I think he ends up going for a 2nd.

The Monahan trade will remove one potential suitor from the Lindholm sweepstakes. The trade that keeps on giving.

24 points in 40 games for Monahan this season. 26 in 41 for Lindholm.

The return will likely be similar for both, although injury concerns could lower Monahan's value.

They better not get similar value in return. Monahan i believe has like 15 points from the PP, not to mention hes a blackhole defensively. Hes worth at most 2/3rd round pick.

The draft might be a better spot to trade a guy like Zegras. I could see the ducks getting another pick in the range of 14th-8th overall for him plus a solid prospect. Would make for a really good draft for the Ducks if they do want to trade Zegras.

They aren’t remotely similar players.

The lack of two way play will also drive down Monahan’s value, he is third line pp specialist now. I’m guessing he gets a 3rd that turns into a 2nd basis games played.

I would bet my left nut that Lindholm's return will be significantly higher than Monahan's lol

Monahan likely goes for a 3rd-ish

I know I'll be cheering for Monahan wherever he ends up, unless it's Edmonton, he'll be dead to me then.

As mentioned above, he’s more of a powerplay specialist at this point. Don’t think the oilers will be looking for that. I could see something like Boston or Carolina making a move for him though if they don’t think they will pay up enough for Lindholm.

I'm willing to bet that Monahan doesn't go for more than a 2nd, and that the return on Lindholm is significantly higher. How would you gauge it though? Especially if MTL takes a salary dump back combined with assets.

Also a couple more player cards:

Yeah but betting 1 nut isn't ballsy at all. If you are that confident bet both nuts and change your handle to NutlessL_NHL.

Monny isn't getting a 1st and top prospect lol.

Yeah, missed the nuts part, I would only be willing to bet actual dollars on that one lol. As confident as I am in my knowledge of NHL GMs I wouldn't be putting the family jewls on the line.

Scheifele left the Jets game with a lower body injury, depending on the severity it could potentially make them a little more desperate for a C, an area they already wanted to improve

Apples and oranges.

Lindholm will get considerably more.

There is more to hockey than just points.

With Forserg out with a groin strain that he needed help to get off the ice after, Sens are in desperate need of a goaltender. Unless they just want to fully embrace the tank.
