Yeah, insurers have an incurred but not reported figure for that reason. People have a claim in 2023, but they don’t get around to submitting it immediately and for their (the insurer) financials it needs to be reflected.

I’d just make sure the coverages and riders are all the same. Things like sewer-backup aren’t all equal and then if you have any floaters for things like jewelry you want to make sure that’s all there as well.

Cooperators is just brutally expensive. We had home insurance with them previously and it was a massive discount when we switched to The Personal.

We just switched both home and auto from cooperators to the personal. Added a third car, a teen driver and saved money.

Manulife.

I guess when I got out and drove to the ortho office and told them what I needed they did get it. Of course had they done what they said they would. I would have had them in hand earlier.

Really pissed me off that I checked on December 21 and I had 1250+/- in the account than on the 29th after they reject it they said I only had 750 to spend for the year. Someone withdrew those funds 9 days early from the Health Spending Account thinking no one would notice to save doing their job on the 29th which is the real last business day of the year. Even what that there should have been a hold on those funds for 60 days to settle any claims.

Annoying because I had to give Manulife a statement that their plan offered zero coverage, than the one from my wife's Alberta Blue Cross for what they covered plus the receipts from the Orthodontist for my payments to make a claim in the same plan. I mean you need to prove your own company didn't cover the claim. Useless twats they are.

I hate Manulife will never deal with that company again.

Manulife ####ing sucks. I'm sure they all suck (though I've never really had my gears ground by Alberta Blue Cross), but #### Manulife.

Sunlife doesn't exactly make my love list either. But Manulife was the worst to deal with. I found Alberta Blue Cross was by far the best of that group.

The basic claims probably are okay. But their coordination of benefits wss not easy, and anything health spending was a mess.

Figured it was manulife. I actually worked for a subsidiary of Manulife while having manulife benefits. By far the worst anywhere I have worked, but could also speak to the company picking a bargain basement benefit package.

I think all insurance sucks but I've found that Manulife has been the best. My experience with Sunlife and Canada Life has been much poorer than with Manulife.

I ####ing hate Canada life. They’re the worst. I’ve been with at least 3 other work insurance providers and I’d submit An HSA claim and have money in my account within days. With #### Canada life it takes months. I still haven’t gotten my $87 back from my dentist visit in ####ing September. And that’s normal. 3+ months for any and all HSA claims to be reviewed and paid. Useless company.

I am not a big fan of Canada Life either, but haven’t had many issues with claims. My big problem was when my wife and I were both with Great West, they wouldn’t coordinate our claims. They basically treated us as if we were one account instead of two.

We've had both SunLife and Manulife at work (switched from Sun to Manu) and they were both okay. Manulife was super easy to deal with but I don't have benefits to coordinate (wife does not have any where she works). HSA super easy to utilize. We just switched again to Simply Benefits. They seem okay (6 months in) but the HSA portion is much more of a PITA and they want to use a mobile app rather than a computer which I am still adjusting to.

TELUS switched us to Canada Life and not surprisingly they're absolute ####ing ghouls to deal with. Which makes sense because TELUS is a soulless organization of evil clowns.

I like that you still fight the good fight against Telus even after you moved somewhere else. Keep it up.

What has always boggled me is why in the hell do insurance plans cover the nonsense?

I get $1000 each per year for Osteopath, Naturopath and Chiro. $300 for psychologist.

Well you see, the first 3 aren't real medical care, while the last one is, and will cover 1 visit. By making it so low, no one will even use the first visit, because 1 is useless. They probably aren't concerned about the first 3 because most people don't use them at all, but they are another item in a list of "coverage" to make it look good. And guess which 3 Danielle Smith wants to divert taxpayer dollars to?
