I think to be safe Locke should stick to eating ground up children. They don't like spice, either.

Stupid donkeys that don't know how to park.

Happened to turn into a strip mall to pick up some take out food. Following a car that is also turning in the lot that just stops for no reason in the middle of the mostly empty lot.

Seems kinda strange but I wait a bit more thinking they might be backing up but no motion. I shrug, and just park at the nearest spot away from the slow poke. Walk into the restaurant but then the driver follows me in complaining about how I was rude to take the spot that he wanted to back into. I'm talking to the restaurant owner and we both look out the window to see the mostly empty lot including a wide open spot beside my car. I look at the crazy man and I look at the owner, we try not to laugh and I just say that I didn't know what he was trying to do. He gets all mad and rants for a bit more.

As I leave after picking up our food the owner walks out with me and apologizes for the crazy man that can't see the other 15 empty spots in a 20 spot lot. I guess you never know who has mental issues and might snap over a parking spot in an empty lot these days, not worth the confrontation over stupid.

On the downside, and to Slava’s point, one of the biggest reasons is because face-to-face socialization is also declining sharply in young adults. Which isn’t ideal.
I have two twenty somethings and can attest to this. Drinking with friends is not a thing with either of them, they probably drink more at home with my wife and I than they do with the friends. University (Covid didn't help) and neither one of them ever went out drinking with friends, now post grad and it's still a thing. They'll do the occasional group thing and have some drinks (not many) but neither one is into the club/bar scene. Kind of nice when we go to friends as we know we'll usually have a designated driver!

This is roughly the story I would tell too. But if I'm honest I know that if I had the energy to be around people for more prolonged periods without feeling drained, I'd prefer to be someone that chats up randoms and makes friends wherever I go, or just brighten a strangers day with a friendly exchange.

I think innately we'd prefer to be skilled socialisers because it just feels better to be connected to people around us and there are many advantages to being so (networking, in business, friends etc), but like with many things, when we realize that we're not great at it naturally and have some bad experiences trying, it's easier to stop trying and commit to the explanation that we choose/prefer an introvert lifestyle.

But I think we all have the ability to be sociable. Some of us just need more work at it, but just don't get enough situations to practice and gain that confidence. If we weren't supposed to be sociable, the introverts wouldn't be drawn back to social situations despite the limitless option of spending time alone in their down time.

Obviously variety is nice. There are people who are opposite and spend an inordinate amount of time around people which presents other mental problems when they don't realize they're not getting enough time to themselves to digest their experience and process #### or figure out what they (not others) want.

But I think what it comes down to with many introverts who feel drained quickly by socializing is they are too in their heads about it because they're less practiced at it, and the over-analyzing of those situations and some self-judgment is what makes them feel drained, more than other people.

This is why you see those introvert memes of people analyzing their conversations hours after the fact and tormenting themselves for saying something stupid.

Did he signal? Put his reverse lights on?

Or was he just the typical donkey who expects that you could read his mind?

Can we stop disparaging donkeys? They're amazing creatures. They're tough as nails and very social animals. They would never complain like that.

That's why I waited for a bit, no reverse back up lights or anything. Just sitting there stopped in the middle of the parking lot for a while.

I literally shrugged to myself in confusion before deciding to park myself.

Fine.

Can they reverse a Honda Accord into the average parking spot?

My employer changed benefits providers on January 1st. Said we had until December 31st to submit claims including Healthcare spending. One of my kids needed Orthodontic work which had $1600 uncovered by the dental insurance that My wife and I have. Was trying for 6 weeks to get the right statements from each provider plus the Orthodontist to submit as HSA claim since I thought I had $1250 left or so. Submitted the claim on December 15th and called the provider to make sure I had all the right paperwork. On December 29th, I got a response saying claim denied because the money was drained out of the account on December 22nd. So that left me $800 out of pocket, plus another 450 unspent that I wanted to use to to either pay for more of that balance or buy new glasses which I badly need.

Looking like I've lost that money, I'm buggered the 800 bucks I've paid...employer suggests try making a new claim with the new provider and see what they say. Its enough to make me go look for a new job when things normalize again. Best case the new people honor the claim but now 40% of my money is spent to cover something that should have been covered last year. Realistically these guys won't pay it because rightfully it's not their claim to pay.

Renewal notice for house insurance from Co-operators came in at $2,194 so I quoted with Belair Direct where we have car insurance. Quote was $866. Co-operators can suck it.

Who are the providers? I've only ever heard them say you have 60 days past to submit claims that happened before the deadline. Also ridiculous it took the ortho more than 1 hour to get you the right paper work (a receipt), I'd be raising some serious #### on them greasy pricks.
