I believe in the Jays.

Not everything needs to be one or the other.

C'mon Nate... "Good GM" and "Big Blind Spots" don't tend to go hand-in-hand, and regardless of who wanted Sutter and the "rightness" of the hire Sutter is a well known commodity in all respects (including that he has a short shelf life).

I think the Marc Savard trade was worse, assuming you have Gilmour at 1.
Reto Berra is probably the goalie you forgot in the Elliott post.

I dont view that one as that bad only because Kidd was so highly touted and Brodeur was far from a sure thing and the Flames likely don't draft Brodeur anyways with their original pick.

Looking at the 1st+prospect+young roster model
1st + lambert/lucius/barloe/McGroarty + stanley/Hamburg
Would be a really enticing package.
Could also throw in Tanvev for a 2nd if they want to load up.

The Jets are interested? I hadn't read that anywhere. But they have interesting assets for sure.

Kidd was ranked far higher, had CP existed we would have all been on board
also we probably would have ran Brodeur out of town anyway

I think it was a couple weeks ago and either Serivalli or Chris Johnston brought it up.
It starts with Heinola IMO if we are dealing with the Jets for Lindy, add in Lambert and let's get little Helsinki rolling in CGY.

even by this threads standards Huberdeau and Tkachuk on the same Flames team last season seems...impossible

The only thing that makes sense is typo; typed n and he meant m for mate?? Autocorrect thought he was typing a name and capitalized it to finish the confusion?!

Isn’t the bloom off the Heinola rose a bit now? Looked good at WJC a few years ago but expected an NHL breakthrough by now.
Winnipeg has other prospects that are more interesting to me.

He broke his foot/ankle in preseason. He was a lock to make the team out of camp. Nothings stopped the bloom on that rose aside from a long term injury.
