Yes, that's exactly what happens on CP, as well. Every teams fans want a good return but are unwilling to give up a single asset that matters to them.

This is precisely the experiment I am conducting.

We n3ed guys like that for the young guys.

Thank god, Casey will be an absolute stud in Utica. Don’t want to take that away from the good folks of Upper State New York.

I don't see the sparkle of Seamus Casey. Undersized defenseman with some offensive skill but has poor defensive play. In fairness I have only seen him play one game in entirety and very small pieces otherwise. Was chatting to a scout at the US/SUI game though and he was extremely high on Casey.
So goes to show I probably don't know much when it comes to prospects....hahaha

Yeah. Losing Bergeron and Krejci killed them
They are way down in 4th overall in the league
In light of that shocking decline I am sure the GM would love to go dumpster diving

A few NHL fan sites are picking up that Gaudreau is being made available in Columbus. I can't find the original rumour, but Habs and Philly sites just started babbling about it at the same time.
.... I guess it was Bruce Garrioch.

If Boston desires Lindholm (and I expect they would), I expect they'll wait until he's a UFA. They can ill afford to give up prospects and/or draft picks.

Wouldn’t they want him for the playoff run? Their window is now.

D Brendan Smith (cap dump)
D Seamus Casey (or Lenni Hameenaho)
2025 2nd round pick (if Calgary retains 50% on Markstrom this becomes a 2024 1st round pick)
I don't think the Devils will move Holtz or Mercer to make this trade work.
Who says no and why?
|
the best asset is Hanifin
the 2nd best asset is Markstrom (retained)
for that, we get a cap dump, a middling prospect, and a 2nd?
Why would you bother typing that out? That is a weak return for Markstrom, but we should throw Hanifin in as well?

It’s not happening. Both have been underwhelming for both of their teams but Johnny has more points this year and his contract is easier to deal with long term

Everyone said their window closed at the end of last season when Bergeron and Krecji left, yet here they are with new blood and a basically revamped lineup with kids.
They have time to extend their window to not overpay in a trade for Lindholm. I'd also suspect they are happy with the performance of the new guys coming in while shipping out the older guys and wouldnt want to mess with that chemistry.
I just dont see Lindholm to BOS as a trade a thing. I dont see how it works when there is other teams with more to give us.

Sweet baby Jesus I would give Huberdeau and a 1st for Gaudreau right now. Not this years first though.

I don’t think Johnny will have a good time here with all of Tkachuk Lindholm and even Monahan gone
It’s a Neal for Lucic in a bigger scale

At this point with Lindholms average play, he's likely to be a rental and then hope to raise his profile that way with a stretch and playoff run. Not out of the question, he's an excellent player with the right linemates...I think he still requires a more skilled player in his line to mesh with and get the most out of him. That can happen as a rental easier then aong term deal.
Maybe that will be Huberdeau as they try that experiment again?
Anyways, the return for Lindholm has gone down, so Conroy has to read the market carefully.
