You think I've been advocating the team rebuild for years now because I want to see them struggle? Or is it maybe because I'm tired of seeing them struggle? If all I cared about was raining on everyone parade, I'd be in every game thread after losses, yet I don't ever post in game threads. The goalie market…

Didn’t Friedman say something about Toronto figuring out something regarding the goalie market after trade freeze is lifted (on the 28th I believe)? Woll injured, Jones the top goalie because Samsonov is garbage. Other teams also in the mix for a goalie or potential sellers:

Edmonton with their Campbell situation… or do they trust Skinner enough?
Devils want an upgrade in net with Vanecek
Kings have Copley injured and want a reliable backup behind Talbot
Blues done with Binnington?
Vejmelka of the Yotes on the move?
Will Preds’ Saros ever be dealt for a king’s ransom? If not him then Askarov (G) for a top prospect in a different position?
Is Knight ever coming back from his minors stint?
With Raanta passed on waivers, does Carolina just cross their fingers Kochetkov holds the fort down until Andersen comes back or do they find an alternative?
Regardless of the Flyers success, is the rebuild path still Briere’s MO? Will he trade Hart if the price is right? Maybe one’s backup plan if other goalies aren’t available?

I am sure I missed some, but plenty of goaltending talk to consider it madness. Will the Flames move on from one of their goalies to call up Wolf for good?

Add Ducks and maybe Gibson getting moved, Columbus could trade Merzlikins and Montreal has to figure out which two of the three are sticking.

Going to be interesting to see how the goalie situation around the league plays out before the deadline.

I do like that we know we have the advantage. Or at least i am assuming Markstrom or Vladar have been called/inquired.

Is maybe the year a goalies’ value is a bit more inflated, due to injuries and not as many star ones?

I think Markstrom isn’t a real trade possibility. NMC + just got married + salary/term. He has no real incentive to move, unless it’s to a sure fire cup contender. And that rarely works anyway (ask Iggy).

I think the scenario the Flames are looking at now is to see Vladar packaged with one of the UFA’s.

Rammage and Wamsley for some fringe NHLer with a good shot type deal would do nicely.

Yeah, if we get a hall of famer and the other teams gets a cup I think both teams would be quite happy.

But if it's Toronto in that scenario we'd need Marner or Matthews coming back. I don't think Nylander fits the bill. LOL

And I love the extortionate rates GMs are asking for goalies. Good!

I stand by an earlier comment I made - any conversation with TML starts and ends with one of Knies or Minten - otherwise hang up.

They want another shot at the SC with this core, they gotta pay up.
