Way to go Frank, you've probably ruined this poor kids self esteem.
That seems to be the way things are going these days, that peoples feelings are the most precious and fragile thing on earth and even coming close to hurting them in a constructive way will shatter their confidence and they will be a social recluse for the rest of their lives.

Some of the stuff that I have heard going on in schools these days is a little much. Everything is being sugar coated for these kids. They could be poor students that are in need of help, but we can't tell them that because it might be too damaging for them. Well what is worse babying the kids for their lives so when they actually have to do something for themselves they hit the panic button or avoid these situations all together or trying to give them criticism so they can become a stronger person?

Good on ya Frank!

It wouldn't even have been as anger-inducing if I hadn't already talked to him about it. I have zero sympathy for him now. Zero. I gave him ample warning, he ignored it, now he's done.

I was considering a counter thread where I rant on about some neighbourhood narc who cost me my job today because I was in a hurry going from one job to the next.

How I couldn't afford to pay rent, or buy food for my new baby because the pool company that I worked for terminated me without notice for speeding in a company van.

But I couldn't figure out a good way to end it.

Guys seriously, how stupid are you? His original post was how he's in bed with the cops! I mean he threw his coffee at the van, and clearly should be charged for such, yet he was not . . .

Do you really want to break into his house? He'll kill you and get off scott free. If only the poor driver of that van had the same connections. The state of legal affairs in Canada today makes me sick.

If he was driving around for 2 years without a license and didn't listen to you about speeding obviously this kid has no respect for authority. This should be the reality check he needs.

So for all the legal experts out there would he get jail for all those things? Or just a bunch of community service?

The cop told me she had so much on him I wouldn't be called to testify. She said the judge will throw the book at him. HA!

Haha. How about you end it with "my cell mate Bubba needs me now. Gotta go."

Good on ya Frank. I live on a similar street that for ever reason seems to motivate people to floor i despite the fact there are a ton of kids around.

But what really irks me is that at least half the time its parents roaring down the street to drop their kids off at school/pick them up. You'd think they would understand better than anyone not to speed in a residential street like that.

Fools!

If its a chronic problem, call the traffic division of your Police Department. They take speeding in residential area quite seriously. At least voice your concerns and maybe get your neighbours together to see what you can do.

The perfect ending to that story is the old "silver lining" angle. You could have ended up by saying that the female cop that arrested you found you (strangely) attractive and she let you perform a full body cavity search on her. That, and she told you where the guy lives that narced you out!

BTW... way to go Tank! We need more concerned citizens like you to help out the boys in blue. They are our eyes and ears on the street and deserve all the cooperation they get. They are true heros.

Maybe they'd be a little safer if you let them come in off the street and live in your houses? Pfhht...and you say you care!

I live right beside a soccer field and I get scowls from the parents if I go faster than 5kph past the field and they hold onto their kids like grim death if they are crossing in front on me. They line both sides of the road with their cars. But the odd thing is that they also line the corners of the road too. So the corner in front of my house is completely blind. On the one hand they are very concerned about their kids getting hit by cars but they make this huge blind corners for the drivers. What are they thinking? Ah right, they are not.

I have people speeding on my street constantly. I find that next to young punks in aging sports coupe wannabes, the worst ones are the soccer moms whipping around in their minivans with their cellphones glued the sides of their (nearly empty) heads.

I also find that when escaping the parking lots from hell at Scotiabank Place the worst drivers are in minivans. Most of them never seem to want to let anyone in, the ones beside you are trying to cut you off, the ones in front of you can't figure out how to merge and the ones behind you are tailgating.

Very misleading thread title. I was hoping that an actual tank put an end to speeders on your street.

BLAMMO!!!

Good job Frank.
