Tanev dislocated his shoulder and torn his labrum in game 6 against DAL in the 2022 playoffs. He either missed or was playing injured in 6/12 games (50% of the playoffs). Had this injury occured in the regular season he would've been out for 4—6 months.
Tanev reinjured his shoulder and missed 17/82 games(21% of the season) last year.
Tanev is injured again this year and had several close calls as well.
That's at least 1 injury each season.

I think the bolded is the problem. I don't know if Tanev's body is prone to injuries. However, it is obvious that because of Tanev's style of play, he is bound to get injured sooner or later.

He or Vladar, get ready to be shipped out!

I'm not entirely convinced there is a big market for Vladar. But who knows.
He was acquired for a 3rd rounder and I don't see him bring back much more than that.

Not sure why they would start Markstrom until after the holiday break. Given the nature of his injury, it makes sense for him to keep training to stay in shape, but he should have some serious restrictions on what kind of practices he is doing. For example, taking shots into his broken hand is probably off limits for at least a couple of weeks.

I dunno - the issue seems to be that Tanev will be injured such that he can't be traded, which to me would imply he's not medically cleared. If he's playing, it seems he's medically cleared to play.
Tell me how many games he missed in the two years before last season?

I thought it was his stick hand (which is also a problem).

Yeah I think a 3rd round pick is realistic for Vladar as well, I hope they pull the trigger soon for a 2024 pick. Nothing against Vladar I think he's a great teammate and a very capable backup but it's Wolf's time to shine.
Also the extra cap room it would create could help Conroy in other trades for the UFA's if we take money back in those deals for bigger returns. Nothing wrong with a 3rd for Vladar IMO.

He only missed 4 playoff games and no regular season games in the 2 years prior. I still think that the injuries because of his play-style would be a consideration for a team that's trading for him. For example him playing with essentially 1 hand was a huge factor in the games he played against EDM.
The frequency of Tanev being on the receiving end of big hits in the corners also seems to be increasing, and so is the frequency he goes to the dressing room mid-game.

The one big hit last game is a concern. The time before was a puck in the face. Can't remember the previous one - I think a blocked shot - but he was back in minutes.

Zboril on waivers:
https://twitter.com/user/status/1735012306189197583
LHD, 26 years old. Drafted in 2015 (not with the Flames pick). Hasn’t really put it all together in the NHL, but the real question - is he better than our current #5 or #6 D?
Scouting report:
https://dobberprospects.com/player/j...0than%20later.
Quote:
Zboril does not excel in any particular area of the game, but also has no glaring weaknesses. His overall ability should make him a lock for top-four duty in the NHL sooner than later.

Have to think that he would be an easy inclusion on any Hanifin deal with the Bruins. At least give the Flames a sort of NHL caliber defenseman to help fill the slots.

$1.1 million cap hit, and a UFA next year. I'd only be doing this if Tanev is out for longer than we think and Oesterle continues to be poo. It would also take a roster spot that Coronato was called up for, assuming DiSimone gets sent back down.

I’d give it a shot. Greer was a solid find from Boston too.

I think Zboril makes good sense. Pending UFA, so very little risk. Not a huge cap hit. And they are going to need bodies on defense.
As for being in Coronato's way, there will be plenty of room for him when the trades start to come (and he is not looking quite ready yet anyway)

Zboril, the first of three in a row first-round picks for the Bruins in 2015. That could have turned out so much better and, yet, the Bruins are still a powerhouse.

Isn't that the 1st rnd pick that was a part of the D. Hamilton trade?

The Flames traded them the 15th pick that year for Dougie.
