The breeders sent a video and their kids were being really rough with the puppies, grabbing by them by the neck. I also think it's weird they didn't know the whole litter had fleas until the vet told them today.

sounds inexperienced and yeah... lets set up a trauma event for the pups so they're easily triggered when older. Sorry not helping calm you down but from this limited info I'd not be happy either

Are the dogs free or something? Why would you pay for this?

As soon as I saw dog breeder, I'm assuming he's paying at least $1500- $2000

Call me crazy, but I think the most neurotic dogs were the ones who were coddled in a sensory friendly environment.

I learned that hamsters hibernate. I never owned one as a kid but my friend’s hamsters always seemed to randomly die. I’m thinking a lot of hamsters get buried alive.

Man, that's such a shame to waste good cat food like that.

Grabbing by the neck how? If it's the scruff of the neck, that's normal and I believe how a mom would pick up her own puppies and carry them around.

Any other way than the scruff around the neck, then yeah, I'd have some concerns too.

Well random thought threaded. This guy/gal random thoughts. Nice.

Now won't be able to stop thinking of all the hamsters I have buried/tortured to death.

Spend thousands to buy a "pure breed" from a breeder, spend thousands more on vet bills for the inevitable issues that come up with genetically challenged pure breeds, then go through early heartbreak when the dog dies because of those complications in 5-7 years. Or spend $100 to adopt a mutt from a shelter and enjoy a healthy happy dog for 10-15 years. Tough choice

I don't buy purebred anymore, this is a beagle/poodle mix from a farm. my 1st 2 beagles in life both died before 10 from cancer, i blame on the damn inbreeding.

update is positive. the family who bred the dogs are going to hold the pup for 3 weeks, as well as a 3 others who's new families also dont want to take them in with fleas. they're treating the dogs with pills and bathing them per vet recommendations. we actually at first advised we would not be proceeding. i didnt ask for my deposit back but they offered and apologized. we then asked if they would consider holding the pup while it was being treated for the fleas and they agreed. they actually offered at that point to just give us the puppy free of charge, apparently my wife and the lady of the house was texting a lot and she wanted the pup to go to a good home. we declined and said we would return the deposit to them for the pup at least.

so, we will have our Daisy new years day

Oh Damn. Poor Reggie.

Does a hibernating hamster wake up if you poke it enough? This actually makes me sad that I may have buried my hamster alive 15 years ago.

EDIT: Sounds like they do it at lower temperatures sustained for 24 hours or more. Since my space was quite warm most of the time, I'm fairly confident Reggie was in fact dead.

Hooray! Your hamster was, in fact, dead.

That sounds weirder once it is typed out.

Well, original eggnog would be something that would be totally original. Classic eggnog on the other hand, follows the more classic style of eggnog.

"Classic" Ingredients:
Milk Ingredients, Sugars (Sugar/Glucose-Fructose), Modified Milk Ingredients, Water, Frozen Yolk (Egg), Natural and Artificial Flavour, Nutmeg, Salt, Tartrazine, Sunset Yellow Fcf, Guar Gum, Carrageenan, Dipotassium Phosphate.
"Original" Ingredients:
Water, Sugar/Glucose-Fructose, Modified Milk Ingredients, Cream, Frozen Yolk (Egg), Natural and Artificial Flavour, Nutmeg, Salt, Colour, Butter, Guar Gum, Carrageenan, Dipotassium Phosphate.

Classic has more calories, fat, and protein, but less sugar.

I went for a walk today and came across a pile of empty laxative boxes littered on on the trail. There must have been like 15 empty boxes and blister packs. It looked recent like they were just put there.

I am kind of curious what was going on there. Is there a way people can get high from laxatives or something?
