Whichever company can broadcast the games at the level the games are recorded. It's ridiculous that illegal streams have better broadcast quality despite using the same feed.

Kelly probably spends like 50% of his time during the Hockey Season on a plane.

Leave MM on radio, Millen is excellent when he fills in, give him the spot. Ball and Millen are excellent.

I always wonder why a nearly 3 year old thread needs to be bumped for an article that is vaguely related to it. I see the thread title and think Sportsnet just signed a broadcasting deal.
Then, you find out it is because of the potential to sign a baseball player.

I wonder if Millen would want the gig full time? I assume he lives in Ontario, so that would be a long time away from home, or require moving.
Maybe they're auditioning Sarich for either the tv or radio colour job.

He does a better job of analysis on HNIC so I hope he picks that. Like Cassie Campbell, he is much better at sharing deeper insights during the intermissions/post-game than he can doing colour. When he's doing colour, he usually just tells us what it is we can already see with our own eyes.

Millen is great, as the backup. But I want someone more Flames-focused, as the primary guy. Not saying a blatant homer, just someone who is about the Flames, full time.

I have heard before Millen loves Calgary and would certainly take a full time gig covering the team.

CP servers are held together with chewing gum and twine.
Bingo can't spare the bits it would cost to start a new thread every time you want one, you absolute monster.

If Millen relocated here, they should open a bar together: The Old Goalies Club
Him, Vernon, Hrudey - maybe MacLennan. Who else?
I would hang there, for sure!

So with this Ohtani stuff and Roger's ditching the NHL, who does TSN hire?.

I assume that he would move pretty seamlessly into a "Flames-focused" role if he was made the full-time Flames colour guy, no? Rick Ball was never a Flames guy before coming to Calgary.

I would assume that if TSN landed the national contract, they would basically just add most—if not all—of the SN Hockey crew, much like what SN did when they signed the current deal.

I prefer Millen to Hrudy - but both have excellent chemistry with Ball. There are quality issues with the Flames’ SN coverage but the commentary is gold standard. Especially when you add in Ryan Leslie’s hosting - it has to be the best in the country.

I do find it interesting that people think TSN will suddenly pump more money into a money losing venture. Will they buy some national NHL games? Probably. But if Sportsnet can’t make money why do people this TSN will spend MORE?

Step one is likely paying less for the TV rights.

I suspect the thought here is moreso that with SN likely out of the bidding for the national contract TSN will not have to compete with a $10B offer this time to secure broadcasting rights.
I assume that nothing will actually change with a new national deal. Both networks are pretty much the same.

People think (rightly, IMO) that the quality of the broadcasts will be better.
Most Oiler games are done in 4K. The Flames games are done through a coke bottle.
