Byron Bader had Nick Robertson projecting surprisingly similarly to Jarome Iginla.
If the two can be compared at all, that makes me want Nick quite a bit.

Way better IMO.

And having a neck surgery which has never been done in the NHL before, that had to affect his value.

Conroy knows more than anyone in this league just how highly Brad values depth on defense, let alone the guys he brought here into Calgary. I just can't imagine a deal between these two where Conroy doesn't win it on paper. He better not be doing his "mentor" any favors.

It's funny how big Jason is. Mom must have liked him better and given him the better food.

I don't see the hype in Minten, but I'll admit I haven't really looked into him.
I'd rather take the 1st, but honestly we should be able to land both of them if we are giving up a quality defenseman back.

The Flames have been and I imagine always will be focused on the now. It wouldn't surprise me to see them walk these players to free agency at the end of the day, because it was "the right move for the Calgary Flames".

To me that reads more like "Meet the price and then we will talk, we are in no rush to move them"
And that should probably be the right approach. Unless your ask is met then you are in no desperation to make a move right now.

I don’t read into anything coming out of Vancouver regarding our players. We heard earlier that the Flames had no interest In Beauvillier or Garland when talking trade with the Canucks. The whole rhetoric around not wanting to trade in the division is Vancouver spin in my opinion. Step up and make a real offer or continue to be rebuffed.

Agreed. The Flames seeming desperate to trade players hurts their value. I have no doubt that other GMs are still testing Conroy with lowball offers. He needs to stand his ground a little to improve the market values.

Yeah, Vancouver is interesting now that they've dropped Beavullier. They now have the cap space to acquire Tanev or Zadorov without the need to move a contract back to us.
So yeah, offer something sweet.

So long as Z and Tanev (and Hanifin and Lindy) stay healthy, then yeah - watching the market for those players grow as we get closer to the deadline is definitely the play. I hope we get to see some Glencross-style moves where we sell regardless of our position in the standings. Especially because Coronato and Pelletier will likely be on the roster come deadline time. If Poirier gets healthy and Solo can be recalled? That's some prime development time for them to come up and play meaningful hockey in a legit playoff race.
With Detroit signing Kane...I wonder if they don't start looking at Lindy? Larkin-Lindholm is a hell of a 1-2, and Detroit has a number of good young defencemen prospects.

So who do we want from the Canucks that would realistically be the return for a player like Zadorov or Tanev? We can forget about Lekkerimaki or Willander. Would Aatu Raty be a possibility? Doubt it.
