Honestly I think he just gets $500 and the jersey. No joke.

For the record, I've been saying Conroy should trade Vladar (for whatever) and make Wolf the full time backup for a while now.

He gets max $500. Better than being paid a dusty nickel.

Vladar supposedly has worse GAx than Campbell this year.
I don't know if teams are offering anything for him unless the Flames retain salary. 2M for anothre year is a gamble on Vladar at this point.

If no one will take him for future considerations, then waive him. Why keep such a player as backup with a top prospect knocking?

For some reason people need to blame someone for every bit of misfortune. It could never be that Markstrom suddenly got a stomach too late to do anything. Say from something he ate.

My worry is more that they are playing Markstrom with a nagging injury since he sat out those games a couple weeks back, which would be crazy when you have Wolf on the farm.

Vladar may well have negative value based on his continuing cap hit next year, his terrible play, and a relatively high AAV for a back up.

What kind of GM isn’t giving his players a thermometer under the tongue and taking a stool sample at noon!

Absolutely astounding that there is a rule that you can call up an emergency goalie (for obvious reasons, because you need 2 goalies), but that emergency goalie can't be from your organization.
Yes, much better to have some nobody who has never faced NHL competition.
So there is a perfectly healthy NHL goalie sitting in Calgary watching the game (two of them, actually)

I assume that Calgary was at its maximum roster limit, as the emergency goalie does not count.
He is actually available to play for either team, that’s why he can’t be from either organization.

You need speed and hands to get zone time. Flames have zero players to do this

Yes, but that's the point. Why can't an emergency call be from your organization?

No, they are not at their limit. It is an NHL rule - you can't make player moves within 2 hours of game time.
But you can call up an EBUG if necessary.
So Wolf is sitting at home watching.
The rule is fine for skaters, but makes zero sense for goalies, in an emergency.
