I think we all understand Wolf’s ineligible to dress because they didn’t call him up by the 5 pm deadline.

Just frustrating. Was Markstrom really feeling perfectly fine this afternoon?

Cause I’m similar. It feels like, ugh, Vladar. Versus, oooh, Wolf!

How do you figure? They were unable to add Wolf to the roster once Markstrom called in sick.

I get it if the player is in another city and has no way of getting there on time. But if he's able to it should be allowed.

No kidding.
It's OK to stash your players on LTIR until playoff time, but you cant activate a call-up after 5pm? Especially given how important competent goaltending is to the quality of the product the league is supposedly trying to promote...

re; roster rules, I think I mostly agree- I mean I get that not every team has an AHL team in house, and that there might be cap confounders will callups after 5pm etc

but EBUGs (despite the occasional Leaf beating story) are never good news for the league really

heck let Vegas pick which one of Dansk or Wolf the Flames are allowed to dress if it comes to that

there are signed pro goalies literally in the building

(of course I wish the young man sitting on the bench all the best and a lifetime of fond memories)

Classic NHL rules

Can't call anyone up, but can sign a completely different guy for a day

Understood. This is 8 games after his Sens start. Would like to see him get another NHL start here shortly again.

If they had figured out this Markstrom illness in time, it was the perfect situation for him to get in. Considering the Wranglers are also in town still.

When I get sick I can usually feel the day before and the symptoms are worse in the morning.

If he’s sick he will have been sick all day just keep him away from the team.

Not necessarily. I have had a couple instances where I felt suddenly ill in the late afternoon.

Kinda weird the ebug tonight is a guy who hasn’t played competitive hockey in about 10 years. Why not someone a little more in game shape like U of C or Sait current guy.

If he had some bad food for his 4pm pregame meal or snack and it hits him at 5:15, what do you do?

Blaming Markstrom for not knowing he's too sick to play at an earlier time so we could watch Wolf get chased by Vegas is peak CP.

He might have had the flu already in the morning but symptoms don't always show up right away. When I tested positive for Covid (I was a close contact) I didn't start feeling sick until a couple of hours later in the afternoon.

Honestly this is on Conroy for not calling up Wolf as a contingency.

Does Dusty Nickel get league minimum salary for a game? That'd be cool.

What if Markstrom told him that he's feeling sick only 2 hrs before game time?

He can only do so much.
