Yeah it was a bad goal. Tape to tape pass from Sanheim to Kreider after a face-off win. Similar to Andersson's(that bum) giveaway to Barzal on the 3rd Islanders goal last week.

Yup. All good puck moving dmen will have the off giveaway that just look's egregious, but that's because they have the puck more and are making riskier plays. Fans always tend to fixate on those mistakes though.
I have the same thought in the offseason. Try to trade Hanifin and the other UFAs and then buy low on Sanheim as a replacement.

If I remember correctly, Conroy or someone said the Flames won't be dealing anybody within the division. And I hope they don't unless it's a massive overpay.

Let's hope Conroy doesn't hold that opinion..
Eliminating 7 trade partners in a league that's already incredibly difficult to trade in to begin with is flat out lunacy.
You take the best deal offered to you, period.

Can't imagine why the Flyers would be selling low in Sanheim, he's playing big minutes for them.

It was in the offseason when there were rumors he was part of a bigger deal to the Blues.
Sanheim + Hayes for Krug + 1st - when the trade was kyboshed because Krug didn't waive his NTC.
So when that fell out there was lots of discussion around if you could potentially get Sanheim for cheaper if the Flyers were looking to move on from him still. That ship has likely sailed now though with his improved play this season.

Agreed. I don't know why we would do that when we are entering rebuild mode. We aren't competing with them....especially Tanev who won't be great in 2 years time.
Take their futures!!! Fill their cap!!!

That would be unwise.
Tanev isn’t going to be the “primary” piece to winning the cup if they even went that far (they won’t). If they give the best offer, go for it. I think they’d be desperate to grab some cap by trading Garland and a high puck for Tanev.

Vancouver doesn't bother me. But no way in hell should the Flames be dealing with Vegas or Edmonton.
Either way, I didn't make it up, BB boys said the same thing and that was well after I heard it from elsewhere.

I couldn't care less if Vegas has an old Tanev for a few years, even if it makes them better.
As long as the Flames get maximum value from the asset.
I wouldn't want to see a a team acquire Tanev and then flip him to Vegas for extra value. The Flames should just get that value in the first place.
Even for the Oilers, they'd be sacrificing their future only to get Tanev while they inevitably fail at at everything.

Skinner is not a good goalie, yes the defense in front of him sucks, but that is not the reason his number are so bad. He is a bad goalie with a good defense or bad defense.
Hart for him and 1st is a terrible deal for Philly.
It doesn't solve all of Edmonton's problems but it is a major upgrade in net if they can pull it off.

Go look at Philadelphia’s capfriendly page - Travis Sanheim is literally the only defenseman on the Flyers you’ve heard of.
He plays 25 minutes a night in all situations for a roster that’s even worse than ours.
Dude is a stud.

I don’t recall Conroy or anyone from the Flames saying this. Anyone else remember the Flames saying they won’t deal with the division? Seems like you have a wild imagination.
Why would they? If you’re moving players, in this case pending UFA’s, you move them for the best package you can get. Whether that is a ‘massive overpay’ or not. A GM’s job is to do what’s best for their franchise, not hold petty grudges or shortchange yourself due to geography. That would be stupid. if our GM is that stupid (I don’t believe he is) then we’re in for a rough ride.
What I do remember, though (and I don’t think I’m alone), is that Conroy said he learned from the Gaudreau situation and wouldn’t let valuable UFA’s leave for nothing.

If we didn’t trade in division we wouldn’t have had the pick to grab Rasmus Andersson.

The only trade I see looking bad is one to the Oilers where the traded player noticeably helps them win a Cup. Maybe Vancouver after that. Odds of either of those seems low enough Id be willing to make the trade if the return makes sense. Anyone else in the division I could care less. I'd be far more concerned with the Flames improving their team for the future.

The Flames are playing well, I doubt Conroy is in a hurry for a deal unless it’s overpaid.
He may even have trouble dealing at the TDL unless they are out of it
