Yeah, I feel like a number of people still do not understand how to operate this thread. Here is a simple rubric that works every time:

When you encounter a bit of news about Edmonton, ask yourself: "Is this GOOD?"

If the answer to that question is "Yes!" then absolutely do not post it in the E=NG thread.

It works every time.

Sometimes - just sometimes - good things happen for nice guys on a No Good team. Gotta feel for the guy regardless. Reminds me of the Stajan moment.

In any event, Edmnton is No Good.

FYP: The only news about Edmonton that I would see as “good” is what Oiler fans would see as “No Good”

If you wanted to take the games missed into consideration, he is the 76th leading scorer in the NHL in points per game.

sure, even more reason not to post it in the ENG thread though

This thread is for mocking the Oilers no matter what

One of these guys was improperly rushed into the NHL. The other earn his NHL spot based on merit.
over their careers Zary is 1G and 2 Pts behind, he's played 12% as many games

Why stop there? He is 375th in the league in even strength P/60.

That's correct, he is almost out of the top 400 in terms of offensive production at even strength. Considering his defensive liabilities, he is a marginal NHL player right now.

Are those points per game or points per 60min? If it's the former, just imagine the latter!

Congratulation to Hamblin for scoring his first NHL goal.

Condolence to Hamblin for doing it with the Oilers.

Oh no thank you. Tires have been pumped by Edmonton media. Just like Campbells were by the Toronto media. Never trust this Snake Oil Salesman.

Would not trade with the Oilers unless it was a clear win.

But if I were trading with them, I would want Holloway as part of the deal. There is a player there, if he can get out of that hell hole.

It’s funny because the oilers management are terrified that whatever move they make will not be enough to get them into the playoffs at this point. But losing another season of their golden boys is not an option either. A wasted season likely means Draisaitl demands a trade. Draisaitl leaving likely means McDavid leaving too. McDavid leaving likely means a loss in revenue and overall team value. This is also why they are likely just playing McDavid despite his injury… because they have no alternative to a 70% healthy McDavid.

It’s funny to hear Spector pretty much whining that other teams are being mean to the oilers by not giving them a good goalie for free. The choice is obvious but they won’t make it. Trade every future piece of value that you have left for a goalie + an NHL defenceman. Your first round picks + top prospects… anything. You have no future to worry about past McDavid + Draisaitl so those pieces mean nothing to you. Of course… this won’t work for them anyways because E=NG. This was the move to do in the summer but the oilers drink their own kool-aid so they believed, no matter what, the cup was going to be gifted to them. Like it was promised to them by divine right because they won a draft lottery. “We’re the oilers… we don’t need defence or goaltending! We’ll just score our problems away!”

If they do nothing and they miss the playoffs, it will be hilarious to see them crumble as an organization. Never has there been a team, fanbase and media group that believed it was so much better than everyone else.

Just let their 1st be included in the price tag, then we won't have to be concerned about where they finish.

That way they can bottom out and Celebrini and the Celebrini family won't lose sleep at night.

Playing at a cup contending rate from here on out would only just squeak them into a wildcard.. maybe.

The room for error is rapidly shrinking

No sure exactly what switch they're going to flip to turn on the Edmonton globetrotters but it needed to happen yesterday lol.

And at the moment it doesnt look like the Wonder Twins are in tip-top shape.

I don’t know about the rest of the Fam, but I find the possibility very upsetting.
