He does. I think there is a much higher chance Brodie doesn't have Calgary on his than Klingberg. If he does though I can't see him waiving it, Chatham boy who grew up a Leafs fan if I remember correctly. He is going to want to stay in Toronto.

Saw Francis talking up Abruzzese because of the Coronato connection but I don't think the Flames make that move as he's older and seems like he's top 6 or bust and not high odds.
Can't see them moving their 1st or Cowan a recent 1st for Zadorov and they have no 2nds.
Minten and Niemela look like the only two prospects who I think would make a move a win for the flames as probable NHLers... I don't see anyone else on the list that would incentivize the Flames moving Z to them this early and not simply waiting till the deadline. Knies is an NHL regular this season and I don't see him getting moved. Robertson has failed to make the Leafs for years, gets injured often and doesn't seem like he's tracking towards being a top 6 NHLer regularly durability wise though could be wrong. Would think that somebody else will part with a 2nd if the leafs won't move a prospect the flames like.

I prefer the rumor that we heard earlier. Keep Ruzicka and the 3rd, they keep Robertson and throw in a 5th. Flames amateur scouts seem pretty good, give them 2 extra shots at it and keep the ones we already have.

For those balking at at his rumoured price tag the guy makes 3.75m now as an RFA, getting a UFA bump of 1.25 isn't that crazy

Mountain climate with its ups and downs is really not good for those dealing with multiple sclerosis, part of why he went out east too

Zadorov signed that deal as a UFA. We acquired him as a RFA did the 1 year deal at $3.75M that walked him to free agency but he decided to return on a 2 year deal at the same money

Nikita Zadorov’s #flames teammate and captain Mikael Backlund says he found out about his trade request on Twitter. “Just like everyone else.”

Taking a while to get to 5000

I think the assumption is he knew the tweet was coming and said nothing to his teammates.

He does it all publicly. Calls the team out and requests a trade. I am sure he is not the most popular guy in that room right now

Am I the only one who read that as Zadorov learnt about the trade request via Twitter like everyone else? Based on everyone else interpretation I've read it over and over and now I don't know.

Oh right, yup.
I still think the floor for him as a UFA now is 4.5

The agent's tweet puts the teammates in an awkward position because journalists will obviously ask them about it, but Zadorov doesn't have to make an announcement in the locker room that he wants out.

Weird that he used Backlund to make this silly observation, because it is a certainty that Backlund didn't tell the room beforehand, when he asked for a trade.
(none of the players would have)

Most people also don't have their agent blast it out to all the insiders the second it happens. No one knew Backlund asked for trade when he did so he didn't have to address it. If you are going to get it out in the media - then you may want to tell your teammates about it because they are going to get questions about it.

All of the trade requests became public. Whether it was a day, or a month later, the effect is the same. There is no crime here, just Salim trying to make a story.

You can't see a difference between a guy asking for a trade and going to the media where all the players are going to be immediately asked about it vs a guy asking for a trade and it not getting out to the media?
And I promise they don't all get out to the media.

Not really seeing as Lindholm, Hanifin, and Tanev were already on record that they wanted out
